I'm very intrested in this as well. I'm a software developer by trade but I have a firm interest in the electronics side of things. My father runs an uk electronics business with machines which can make boards. He also has an office in china for supplies and may be able to get deals on large volumns of chips.

The network tries to produce one block per 10 minutes. It does this by automatically adjusting how difficult it is to produce blocks.
