https://freebitco.in/ and maybe http://faucet.bitcoinzebra.com/ respond to the btc price, others don't take any actions (or I use them too rarely)..
I never got to know that how can i use bitcoin zebra? The site never works for me :/

Agreed they pay relative dust.

But you said you'd play if they paid 20 times what they do now. So if you think BTC is going to be 20 times Today's value at some point in the future it would be worth it for you to play the faucets today...
if i was so sure of bitcoin going up by 20x of its current price then i would have really sold off my house, all my property to buy bitcoin and would start living on the road till the price rises. I would be a billionaire then.
And instead of wasting  time on faucets, i can do something productive that can pay me 20x at todays rate of what faucets pay me today, like studying.

Like the others said, faucets won't be really worth the time. Ever.

Just buy with cash. You'd probably never get more than a few dollars worth of BTC unless you have thousands of referrals. So what if you turn your 50 cents from faucets into 5 dollars if the price goes up?

You'd just end up wishing you'd just bought instead.

well if faucets start paying more then it really could be worth it.  I take it none of us are in bitcoin because we think this is the top? if btc was to hit like 10k per bitcoin then these faucets wouldnt be a waste of time

Still faucets are just a waste of time.

That's true.
Even if BTC price will go "tothemoon" it is still easier to buy some BTC than spend your time with faucets.

i don't think all faucets changes their rewards according to current BTC/USD price
we can find only few faucets with such features
other are paying a fixed amount of satoshi to their users no matter if price drops

BTC faucet payouts get better as the price per BTC in USD goes down.

Do you think the BTC price (per USD) will go up in the future? If so, you should spend some time back on the faucets. They raise the amount of BTC paid out with each roll as the price per USD falls. So while you're not earning any more USD equivalent per roll you ARE earning more BTC per roll.

The BTC payout per roll at free bitco.in has doubled since June (as the USD price per BTC has been cut in half).

Check it out for yourself.

I still do not get the point of using bitcoin faucet! They arnt worth the time! Even if the payouts have doubled, they still payout dust. If they start giving out 20x of what's they give today, then i will surely like to spend time on faucets, but offcourse it isn't going to happen(untill bitcoin hits $20).
Faucets are only useful for newcomers in crypto world cause they give them a sense about what bitcoin is.

As a previous  owner of 3 faucets, I don't think faucets will higher their payouts at all knowing that bitcoin still has potential to jump up to higher rates.

It's kind of funny that we go through these conversations all the time. I remember when faucets gave out entire bitcoins and people cried about how they were worthless and you're wasting your time. And then they gave out half bitcoins and people complained about them being a waste of time. Then down to 0.1 BTC and the same thing. Then 0.05 and the same thing. We've gone through this same cycle at least 15x as the price of bitcoins has risen, each time people crying about how it's a waste. Protip: if you had gotten in on faucets in the beginning, you could have racked up hundreds of them in under an hour of actual work. Definitely seems like a waste to me!

Anyways, if anyone wants to hit up faucets faster and easier, use this rotator, which supports more than just BTC and is actively expanded faucet-wise as requests come in.

I feel you. I first heard about BTC in 2009 and avoided it as I thought "mining" was either going to be some super-technical event or it was just a virus described as something bigger. That's my big regret: not looking into it and instead just writing it off as being yet another scam/virus.

Back in 2010 i wish i would have done faucets instead of wasting time playing Evony online everyday...What an egghead

Faucets might only pay out dust now, but dust can lead to sand, and sand leads to a beach.

I see your point. I really wish I found out about bitcoin sooner. Or at least before the 2013 spike. I just found out about in Feb 2014.

In terms of the avg person, your still aware of something ahead of the masses.
I personally dont worry about the price of BTC at all. I just try to use it more often each month than i did the month before.

Sharing what you know about blockchain technology and the incredible uses with friends and family is the key.
Faucets are a nice way to gradually expose people with little or no knowledge of crypto to many of its features.
