Hi there. Just found ERC and wanted to try mining some on the suprnova pool, but I can't seem to get minerd/cpuminer working (yes I am a noob at this so all help is appreciated).
Basically I downloaded the v3 wallet and synced it, but now I'm not sure what to type in the .bat file in the minerd/cpuminer folder. Currently I have:

minerd.exe stratum+tcp://erc.suprnova.cc:7674 -u username -p password

(username and password are changed to my username/password)
When I start the miner, the window pops up for 2 seconds then disappears.

Do I need to add a europecoin.conf file to the Roaming/europecoin folder?

EDIT: I downloaded cpuminer-opt from the ERC mining guide and tried running the ERC_START.bat.... this one gets a bit further before crashing. It gives me an "unsupported CPU or SW configuration, miner will likely crash!" error, then tries to start but crashes.

I have an i7 930 cpu, running Windows 10

Each block is stacked on top of the previous one. Adding another block to the top makes all lower blocks more difficult to remove: there is more "weight" above each block. A transaction in a block 6 blocks deep (6 confirmations) will be very difficult to remove.

You have to use hodlminer.
Here you have the latest version, just edit the .bat file

Thanks Greg, but that one crashes as well. I changed the bat file (added my username and password only) so not sure what the problem would be?

Hmmm, your CPU does not support encryption AES -  AMD or Intel processor with AES-NI support in order to use the miner.

You have to change platform s.1151 and i-7  gen.7  Kaby Lake  Wink

Please open commandline first and then call the file (and path) from commandline.
In that way you may have a better chance to see error messages,
because the window should stay open, even if the miner crashes.

By the way, though gregofdoom is a trusted friend, please use the source, recommended by the pool.
Its not a question of trust, but a question of how to do things right and in a save way.
(thank you for helping greg, i guess, you agree to that kind of recommendation)

have fun

I hear you! I just want to know why and where these comments come from. I doubt there's going to be any kind of answer - at least not a good one which is actually based on something.

Wouldnt the new 8 core AMD Ryzen be better for mining? The extra 8 threads should more than make up for the slightly slower clock.

Yes, RYZEN 8 cores and 16 threads promises to be interesting.
Its performance is similar to Intel's Skylake comparing one core.

I currently have Skylake i7 4 @ 4,5Ghz, but I'm looking forward to this new baby AMD  Smiley

I grabbed i9 7930 - 128 Cores @ 5.1GHZ, 1.2GB Cache L3, put it on socket X.null - Code name Ambrosia. Yesterday bought 16 GPUS nvidia Q Rebel packed with 260 GB RAM clocked to 7.2 GHZ. Im gonna purchase 10 TB Fusion SSD, anyone knows where I can get a discount on this drive?

WOW, you will rock this network, i guess, congrats
(no idea about the discount, didn't even know there would exist a 10 TB SSD)

why we avoid mixing point-of-sales and privacy and why we are running two coins in one team:
(Europecoin and Bitsend)

with two coins, each for its use-case, users are more aware, about their privacy status.

to me different coins are like different fruits all taste different but most taste good

people are different their favorite fruits are too

to choose and be able use all serious linked coins for simple tasks like payment will be standard soon

the differences between the coins will be services on top

and even there solutions like federated blockchain (internet of coins) will help that such services can be used across different blockchains too

like the future of mankind is more global
and more regional at the same time

the future of blockchain technology is the same more interaction and cross chain usability
and more specializing on the essence of the single coins

Exactly! A multicurrency economy, is one of the greatest outcomes,
of open source blockchain technology.

At the core of the revolution, the benefit comes from:
