I am very sorry for this garbled MESS of text.
So hey, Do you have a preorder for a BFL Jalapeno ASIC? Do you have the ability to putdown a preorder?
I would love to trade off my MSI6990 http://www.newegg.ca/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814127574 for Two of them.
Heres a thread with some details, I just woke up so im just trying to clean this OP up as quickly as possible https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=83987.0

Two jalpeno asic's or http://www.newegg.ca/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814127667 gets you a 6990! C'mon anyone wanna make a deal? The 6990 is about 7-8 months old now... Is anyone intested in this potential deal? Im trying to get a jalpeno in my hand or That 7950 but my only form of internet money is bitcoins, Wich i mine with my GPU's And once the jalpenos hit the desktops my ability to make any real income off my 6990 or other GPU's will be destroyed, So i dont really have time to save money...

TL;DR https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=83987.0

Im just going to lock this now since everyone is saying the same damn thing. 'Thanks' fellow bitcoiners for telling me to take it to ebay. If anyone wants it, PM me Please!

You can always sell your graphics card if it's true, which I doubt at those prices.

Thats just the thing, I've tried selling it, I havent gotten a "pleasing" offer, Its always a guy trying to get a great deal on a "its used and probly going to break soon 6990, so it's probly only worth $100's If even that, I'd give you parts value for it" <--- clearly just a low baller, But this is the majority for styles of trade chatter..

Nobody wants to pay what i want to get out of it, Wich at this point in time, most likley one of two things:
I trade the 6990+btc for a 7950/70
I trade it for two of the mythical jalepno ASIC usb miners.

True, and I totally agree with the fact that ASIC's are ahead of their time and are totally going to kill GPU mining.  Totally sucks, but at least you have the rest of the summer to profitably mine.  In some cases it's not even profitable to GPU mine at the current exchange price depending on your electricity cost.  If the bitcoin started trading for $10 in the near future, well then it would definitely be profitable to mine GPU's before ASIC hits the streets, but in December the mining reward cuts in half, so what happens then?  If no one created an ASIC, or no one is able to deliver one, then it would cost you more in electricity than you would earn in bitcoin anyway.  Of course, the network would adjust itself and if people stopped mining in any large amount the difficulty would go down or the bitcoin value would have to be at least $15 to profit.  But doesn't Vladimir already have ASIC?  So at least now we have some ammo to combat his gear (unless he uses his ASIC profits to buy more ASIC's from BFL or expand his own then we are all doomed).  Another advantage of BFL releasing these is now we will have a network so powerful that a government could not develop their own ASIC and use it as a 51% weapon (unless they bought a bunch of BFL rigs then we are all doomed).

It all depends on the volume that BFL can make them in.

If they received $250k in orders in 24 hours, and there's still like 3+ months until delivery, there could be a zillion of these out in the wild and the difficulty will get to the point where even these ASIC's might not even be profitable after enough have been made.

If they produce these in low volume, I guess like now how you can order a BFL Single and wait 50 days for delivery, then there will be a gradual transition in difficulty, but if they are able to ship ALL the pre-orders in one shot, then they will continue to be able to ship in that volume, and then there will be so many produced that even with ASIC's we're doomed.

I wonder what a BFL Jalepino will be worth when you have it in your hand and people post them [FS] on here at a markup.

The thing that bugs me about the ASIC's is that not every has one, Yes they sound great for "de throning" people with megafarms, But really, Now the average person with a decent GPU in thier rig cant make a few free coins unless they have free power x.x This was not Satoshi's ideal way to have everyone capable of having bitcoins...

Not everyone has a 6990 either, they're a lot more expensive than Jalapenos and far less effective if energy cost is an issue. Really, right now you either have to be a gamer who happened to buy AMD rather than NVIDIA or to have bought GPUs specifically for mining. You also have to be somewhere where power is cheap.

If anything, ASICs level the playing field because they're such a non-burden when it comes to power, they mean that Europeans can be more competitive and that people don't have to spend $500 on a high-end GPU that they'll never need outside of mining, and put up with unbearable heat and noise, just to be able to get a few BTC.

The funny thing is the only difference between us is that you had AMD GPUs before you came to Bitcoin whereas I'm a gamer on NVIDIA, so had to buy 'specialised mining equipment' (5970s which I would never have considered buying if it weren't for Bitcoin) to get into mining.

I'm sure you can get a good price for a 6990 in the Marketplace (or worst-case scenario, a 1-day ebay auction), then just use the BTC to pre-order two ASICs.

I've been trying for months to sell this thing. I literally cant afford the shipping, I would have to save for about two weeks, Slowly chipping money out of eating, and then say "hey guys i can finally pay for shipping" "yeah well it's been xyz days so i dont want it/ its not worth it/ i found a better deal"

Seriously, I've been trying to sell it. What do think this thread is for? Im trying to sell the damn thing But clearly nobody (and i would be stupid to take this in a negative manner) would be willing to pay first to some "anon+name" for the reason "i cant affor the shipping" It sounds like a fucking lie, And i get told things like "why dont you just save up a few btc"
Uhh I do, I try to, and like a shitnado, Im left with a guy who nolonger wants it/etc
Or i sit here, Hungry, With $60 in my pocket and a sell thread, Where im trying to get this thing out of my hands. And then theres the fun of turning cash to coins, Wich takes time an-OH THE BUYER LEFT.
So here i am, Still trying to sell this FUCKING CARD THAT NOBODY WILL MAKE A GODDAMN OFFER ON.
Aside from ofcourse the previous people in the past who thought about it, And then changed thier minds, ThankYOU all for atleast considering it..

Seriously, Im not just going to fucking sell it because i want it gone. Im trying to sell it for a reason, So if your going to kick me in the nuts with a low offer, Atleast think about it prior

Let me see if I understand, you're selling your 6990 for 300$. Did you overclock it?, overvolt?, undervolt?, at what % fan speed did your fan run?

Hmmm, my power costs are .01$/KWh, let me do the math to see if I'm interested and make you an offer.

You might have better luck if you clarify what you are trying to do. In the OP, you seem to want to trade for two "working Jalapenos." Do you really think that someone who has already pre ordered those is going to make an agreement with you now to exchange them for the old GPU technology? Trading 7Gh for something that will do much less than 1 Gh? Good luck. Your best bet is to sell the 6990 for $300 and order the Jalapenos yourself. But then in one of your posts you go on about how you can't "afford" shipping? What's up with that? Just set the price so you can afford shipping. It doesn't instill confidence in the buyer if you suggest that after they agree to buy the card, there may be a problem with shipping because you can't afford it. Maybe that's not what you meant, but it's one impression that potential buyers might come away with from your language. My advice is to stop emoting in this thread about how you want ASICs - focus on clearly explaining what you will sell/trade the card for, how shipping will work, etc. - be professional about it and do what you can to instill confidence in the buyer.

That's exactly what I thought. I can't even think why BFL would want to sell the ASICs at such a low cost, they could sell them at at least 4 times their prices, or even more, so BFL will only get my paypal money(thing they won't accept), so I'll try to buy GPUs, my power cost is .01$/KWh

So sell yours for 290. Or for 300 and see if it sells? You're really complaining that you can't sell a GPU at it's present market value?

http://www.ebay.com/sch/i.html?_sacat=0&_sop=16&_nkw=radeon+6990

Completed listings are showing sales from $315-699+$16 for shipping.Average of sales=$450 or so.

Edit:yeah one guy has 14 for sale & has sold some for $255.I would still reserve price it for at least $350 & see if someone hits it Smiley
