Since it appears that taint is detectable can I then presume that transactions from tainted addresses can be then ignored? If so, then if green addresses are forced upon a population, can they also be considered taint and ignored. Would it then follow that any tainted or forced addresses could then be forced into a forked block chain by those that oppose those practices?

The Bitcoin network protocol was designed to be extremely flexible. It can be used to create timed transactions, escrow transactions, multi-signature transactions, etc. The current features of the client only hint at what will be possible in the future.

I could alway isolate that from my wallet and not use it. That doesn't answer my questions.
