Or something a bit more stable, that people don't laugh at as much?  $$$?

People laughin is a good sign.

1. Steve Ballmer on the iPhone's failure

"[Apple's iPhone] is the most expensive phone in the world and it doesn't appeal to business customers because it doesn't have a keyboard which makes it not a very good e-mail machine…"

2. Business Week on the failure of Japanese cars in the U.S.

"With over 50 foreign cars already on sale here, the Japanese auto industry isn't likely to carve out a big slice of the U.S. market."

3. Decca Records on the future of The Beatles

"We don't like their sound, and guitar music is on the way out," said Decca Records about The Beatles in 1962.

4. One publisher's take on J.K. Rowling's Harry Potter

"Children just aren’t interested in witches and wizards anymore," an anonymous publishing executive told J.K. Rowling in 1996.

5. IBM on the need for photocopiers

"The world potential market for copying machines is 5,000, at most," said IBM to Xerox in 1959.

6. Movie producer Darryl Zanuck on the future of television

"Television won't last because people will soon get tired of staring at a plywood box every night,” said Zanuck to 20th Century Fox in 1946.

7. American engineer Ken Olson on the need for the personal computer

"There is no reason anyone would want a computer in their home," said Olson, co-founder of Digital Equipment Corp., in 1977

8. A Yale University professor on the demand for overnight parcel delivery
"The concept is interesting and well-formed, but in order to earn better than a 'C', the idea must be feasible."

Ad fucking infinitum.

Even if the Russians want to move int $, a route via BTC would be easier. Many might not do the BTC>USD conversion. Bullish right now!

You didn't fix shit. You made yourself look like a moron once again by confusing Beanie Babies with something that could be replaced on any of these quotes. Keep it moronic.

These trolls must be getting schooled until Bitcoin goes up again and they leave by themselves out of shame. Meanwhile they must not camp free trying to impregnate their delusional views into clueless newcomers.

There is a culture of not giving a shit about law in Russia, so they might, especially in case things go really bad, and Putin bans USD bank accounts.

You seem a bit upset, zyzzbrah?
I imagine your newfound poverty (stemming, no doubt, from various embarrassing shrewd Bitcoin "investments") is likely responsible for your atrocious manners, so I'll overlook your lack of tact.
But just this once.

It will make them turn to the east even more than they have been. I think they might try to start a new BRICS trade agreement, as they all seem to be getting sick of the g7 pushing them around.

It is possible that their economy collapses though, then the BRICS will know who is still boss.

Letting banks fail when the country's economy is in a crisis is not a good idea. So I am not surprised by this.
While Russians might move their wealth out of Roubles into other currencies, I think what matters is the ease of movement. Would it be easier to buy USD for roubles or easier to buy bitcoins?

It probably would be easier to buy turnips, though the right question is "would it be smarter to buy turnips?
And, after buying turnips, would these turnips be immediately sold [at a loss/discount] for real money, AKA $$$, and what would that [dumping] do to turnip prices?

This is true. Banks' health is very important to a country's economy as without healthy banks credit will free and the lack of a credit market will cause economic activity to slow down.

It is a generally good economic policy to only let banks fail when the economy is healthy and can absorb such a shock (especially when preventing larger banks with a large economic footprint to not fail in times of economic crisis)
