Transactions must be included in a block to be properly completed. When you send a transaction, it is broadcast to miners. Miners can then optionally include it in their next blocks. Miners will be more inclined to include your transaction if it has a higher transaction fee.

.... You don't need that.

Get some free bitcoins here: http://www.bitcoinswallet.com/free-bitcoins.html

Some services let you get the first BTC to start playing...

Also, you can buy some at https://mtgox.com/

Good luck!  Smiley

Asking for money without giving anything useful in return (aka begging) is generally frowned upon around here.

It's working fine, nobody has sent you anything.

You probably killed any chance you had when you called the board cheap. Maybe try again with a different nickname?

I sent you 0.05 BTC.  I have no idea how long it will take to get confirmed as I sent it from MyBitcoin where there is no way to enter a transaction fee.

Strange culture here. Why is the board 'cheap' if they don't send the trivial amount within 20 minutes (!). And why is someone 'begging' if he said that he wants to test his client and is asking for a trivial amount? Why does someone have to change his nick because of begging? Why does someone have enough time to write a xx words reply, but is too cheap (?) to instead send a trivial amount? How do we treat each other? Strange stuff...

Bitcoin's success depends 50% on technology, and 50% on the culture we create along with it. In fact after the technology is proven to be stable, it will mostly compete on the culture aspect with other decentralized digital currencies that will surely emerge. Imagine a religion picking it up - BuddhaCoin. If the Bitcoin culture is full of name calling, aggressiveness, distrust etc. then I'd rather go with the BuddhaCoins...

I just sent 0.10 Bitcoins along with this long reply that I only wrote because I don't like communities of people that don't trust each other (it hasn't been broadcast yet though). Let's give doobadoo the benefit of the doubt - have fun testing your client, and send a few bitcents to your friends as well...

And so, a valuable lesson has been unlearned.

I'm not representative of the "culture" btw. I'm way harsher and radical than the rest here.

Interestingly, even though my client deducted the xfer, it still says 0/unconfirmed, and neither 125209 nor 125210 picked it up (0.01 fee included). oh well... I have only 5 connections maybe it takes some time to propagate. Good that someone else was faster.
