TOKYO - JAPAN - June 26, 2012 - Mt.Gox announced the support of ABA routing number based transfers designed to simplify withdrawals to US based accounts.

Created in 1911 by the American Banker Association, the ABA routing number is, unlike the worldwide Swift Standard, a nine digit bank code used by all banks across all states offering a unique way to identify a bank in the USA.

By supporting the ABA routing number standard, Mt.Gox is now able to provide customers the ability to make international wire transfers to banks that were until today not supported by Mt.Gox default withdrawal methods.

Starting today, Mt.Gox users wishing to withdraw their funds to their US based bank account will now see along side the IBAN, SWIFT/BIC, a new ABA field where they will now be able to put their unique nine digit bank code identifying their branch.

Please note that like IBAN, SWIFT/BIC international wire transfers, ABA based transfers are also subject to bank fees and transactions.

Regards
Mt.Gox Co. Ltd Team.

Are these ACH transfers or bank wire transfers through the Fedwire system? Usually the fees are very different. ACH transfers have to clear like a check does 2 to 3 business days. Bank wires through the fedwire system do not have to clear but banks usually charge about $40 per bank wire transfer vs low or no cost for ACH transfers.

You can't win if you don't play. But you can't play if you lose all your chips. First I found bitcoin (BTC). Then I found something better, Monero (XMR). See GetMonero.org

Well you know what will happen when you send around 10,000 USD (or a total of 10,000 USD within a certain time)... Delays. Still we have been clear on the forum.

Perfectly clear.  That's why I waited 12 days for a $200 withdraw, before waiting another 3 days after I requested it be canceled, so I could re-convert it back into BTC, paying fees again, so I could transfer them to another exchange, where I sold them, and had my withdraw in my bank account 2 days later.

These are not ACH Transfer but International Wire. ACH Transfer we never offered them since we are a Japanese Based company.

What is the fee charged by Mt Gox for this type of withdrawal? I understand the banks may add some extra fees. What is the time for withdrawals of less than $10,000 to a US bank account?

I would first advise you to test both system and compare the fees first. Your Bank may have different fees for SWIFT and ABA, this depending of the intermediary bank they used in each case. Once you found out the best solution for your needs please contact the support and ask them to remove the one that you no longer want.
