Author Topic: QUICK QUESTION - Multibit back-up with numerous wallets ?  (Read 663 times)

Hi

I have several encrypted wallets in use on Multibit.

When i backup fron the appdata/Multibit folder i do i ONLY need to backup the Multibit.wallet file only ?

Make sure you back up your wallet regularly! Unlike a bank account, nobody can help you if you lose access to your BTC.

NO. You need to backup all your wallet files. If you were to only have/use the default multibit.wallet, then that is all you would need to backup. But that file does not hold information for any other wallet you created. Each one of those also needs backed up.

Thanks for the reply, i did notice other untitled wallet.dat files in the Multibit folder (even though i have named my wallets Wallet1, Wallet 2 etc), i will just back up EVERYTHING in the folder then to be safe.

So it looks like i will have to open every wallet.dat file if i do a recovery....
