Peer to peer clients connect to IP addresses of other users running the client. You could also check the config file for non-working nodes.

Thanks but it is a private test coin with only 2 clients running the code (in 192.168.0.X subnet). I don't see it in src on net.cpp. Wondering if someone can locate it, used litecoin src code. 0.8.6.2

I am unable to detect these IP addresses in source code. The likely place they may be hidden is net.cpp in peers.
