Yes i started from faucets too , though it was small amount , but the fun it gave , as if i really thought i would make a large some pretty soon if i collected daily and all , though all that bores me now

yes, i started from the faucets, but be careful with small transactions..

Just to note that faucets that pay out dust are not added to the Free Bitcoin Sites List.

Most faucets these days use services like microwallet or faucetbox to aggregate bitcoin from multiple faucets until they reach a minimum balance before paying out.

FYI, the definition of dust used to be 5460 satoshi, but was reduced to 546 satoshi when the minimum transaction fee was reduced to 1000 satoshi. Even if you have a wallet full of bitmils (0.001), spending them all at once can incur a large transaction fee.

I think a guide would be helpful to faucet users on how to join their small inputs together so they can eventually be used without large fees. When I was searching for that info, I found mostly misinformation and little understanding of how the inputs affect the transaction priority. I now have a script that every day slowly cleans up my wallet by batching up small inputs with a larger input and creating a free transaction that gets confirmed quickly.

This explains some of the issues but may not be the most practical for the average user:

The Free Bitcoin Faucet List has been re-ordered according to best payouts.

And also now includes information showing what payout service each faucet uses.

d = Direct ( site uses no third party service and payouts directly to users address )
f  = Faucetbox
m = Microwallet
p = Paytoshi
x = Xapo

Note the announcement at dailyfreebits. All faucet owners who use microwallet should consider making this change as microwallet has become very unreliable lately.

GOOD NEWS: We are switching to Faucetbox finally. Microwallet is now taking several weeks to process payments and this wait is too much for many members. Faucetbox pays out automatically when minimum threshold is reached...

everyone have their own way to earn bitcoin, faucet is one of them. Maybe earning with it is too little for some people, but for newbie it's a good way to learn about bitcoin.
And if you can promote your referral links elsewhere, there are possibility you can get many referrals and earn more bitcoin from that Smiley
I doubt invest in altcoin is good way, because there are so many scam and pump dump coin in altcoin world
