Hi All,

I have created a python script that will create a new bootstrap.dat every day, So no more waiting for that bitcoin client to sync via a slow server! direct downloads for you people wanting it. I have often wanted this and its not available.

You can download the latest bootstrap from

http://94.23.0.211/bootstraps/

I will be adding checksum support so you can confirm file integrity/validity.

Hope you all enjoy and any donations to the below address to help with hosting costs would be appreciated.

Bitcoin addresses contain a checksum, so it is very unlikely that mistyping an address will cause you to lose money.

Just in time to not be needed after all? The new version of Core is set to come out in late January, and it's putting to rest the need for a bootstrap file altogether.  Or so I've read.

I've been hearing that for three years. I'll need to see it to believe it.

It will be good but for the time being its not here.

But really looking forward to that improvement!

just a heads up: this will become obsolete when 0.10.0 gets released because that has parallel blockchain download.

It is pitch black. You are likely to be eaten by a grue.
