As I mentioned in my introductory post, I'm a software developer and an anacap. As such, I'm always looking for new opportunities to build software that fills a need and provides value to the community an a potential revenue stream to me.

I know there are a _lot_ of Bitcoin services out there and I'm wondering if there are any merchant focused ones out there? For example, are there any services that focus on providing something like a merchant account but using Bitcoins?

If not, would anyone be interested in such a service? I've got a few ideas on how it might work and would be happy to develop it if there is interest.

Thoughts?

Thanks! Won't waste my time working on it then. MtGox will dominate the market. Moving on to my next idea :-)

If facebook thought that when myspace was leading the market...

If you had the passion for the idea you would use the competition as a stepping stone

Good point. But equally important is recognizing my limits and when a competitor has the resources to execute an idea better and in a more timely fashion than me. I want to contribute something to the community, not just jump in to compete and make money. To me, contribution is as important as making money.
