replace <privkey> with your private key
and replace name with the name you want your address to be called

I do exactly as you say it, but keep getting the error 5 message

It should work. Try restarting your wallet and tell me if you see your address in the recieve coins tab.
Also just to make sure, your Cinni private key that you are importing in the Stakecoin wallet starts with a "S" right?

Yes the privatekey starts with a S.
I don't see the adres in the recieve coins tab (stakecoin wallet).

Try importing this Cinni private key in the Stakecoin wallet and tell me if you can do it successfully.

paste that in the Stakecoin console without the qoutes and you should recieve a blank message. if you recieve a blank message that means it imported successfully. then restart and you should see that address in your wallet.
Do it with a new wallet.dat though since this private key is public
if this works for you, then go to your Cinni wallet and export the private key again and make new wallet.dat and import it like you did that time.
just replace the test private key with your own, and replace test with a different name.

I think it worked . The addresses are now in my recieve folder. I encrypted my wallet . Thereafter decrypted. And then I could enter the private keys and got a blank message.

The wallet i got is totally screwed and i think i lost several coins
I tried sending 700 cinni they disappeared from the wallet but the program does not show me anything no tx, bu the funds are gone
When i tried to send 50 cinni it gives the dreaded can not blah blah
I guess the previous send i did in dec is also in the digital mist somewhere
Dev what can i do since i can not send any of the coin to the destroy address and am not able to see what happened to the missing coins
Its however staking like mad now seems its catching up on the missing stake time
But the last date of transactions still is 26-08-2014

try using a backup of your wallet.dat if you made it before you did those transactions.
also if you dont have a backup or if that doesnt work then you can open coin control and put it in list mode and see a list of your addresses.
do dumpprivkey for each of those and then make a new wallet.dat for your cinnicoin wallet and import those private keys.
then rescan.
that should work.

I have some cinni how do I swap to stakecoin

To convert Cinni into STK:

If you have Cinni in your wallet:
Step 1. ) Open your wallet and sync, you can use a bootstrap.dat to make you sync faster.
Step 2. ) Send  all your Cinni to 1 of your addresses (you have to do this step please)
Step 3. ) When all your Cinni is in one address only, send your Cinni to JXxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxyXxqk6 (this will burn them)
Step 4. ) In your Cinni wallet press 'Help' then press 'Debug window' then press 'Console'
Step 5. ) In that console type dumpprivkey <address> (replace <address> with the address you sent from)
Step 6. ) Record that private key somewhere to use in the next step.
Step 7. ) Download Stakecoin wallet
Step 8. ) In your Stakecoin wallet press 'Help' then press 'Debug window' then press 'Console'
Step 9. ) In that console type importprivkey <address> (replace <address> with the Cinni address you sent from)
Step 10. ) Wait maximum 1 day to recieve your Stakecoins.

You have until Stakecoins PoW ends to do this proccess.
If any Stakecoins are left over at the end of PoW then they will be burned to JXxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxyXxqk6
