Now parting out
I am keeping the racks unless I receive a good offer

First dibs go to my fellow miners...

Two identical rigs; 3x 5970s 1x GD70 1x Sempron 1x Seasonic 1050w 1x iStar D-400L
Asking price per rig is $1450 payable in BTC

I have a fresh 5970 back from RMA, never booted up
Asking prices:
HD5870 - $140 Shipped
HD5970 - $300 Shipped
890FXA-GD70 with Sempron & 1GB Memory - $150 Shipped
Seasonic 1050w PSU - $175 Shipped

**Shipped price is to US48

These have been mining in a sealed air conditioned/filtered server rack @ 60°F ambient. Cards have been mining in a range from 56-62°C steady with clocks set at 725/300. At these clocks each rig maintains 2GH/s.

Bitcoin mining is now a specialized and very risky industry, just like gold mining. Amateur miners are unlikely to make much money, and may even lose money. Bitcoin is much more than just mining, though!

+1 rep for likuidxd, I bought a mobo/cpu off him a few weeks ago and he shipped it fast, was well packed, and arrived safely!

I would totally buy one of these units if I had more cash!  Cheesy

Very nice.  If you don't get any hits I'll take them for $800 each.

Did the solder melt when you initially tried to overclock?  There is very little room between the hotplate and the intake.  They run 5c cooler if you replace the thermal paste and take that useless metal blowback plate of the back.   It's like shooting air at a brick wall..  >>>>>>||

I would consider $225 each for all 5970's

$119 for the MSI's, $140 with CPU and RAM

Scrap metal price for the chasis.  I've never used a Seasonic PSU are they any good?

Huh? So much wrong with that post...

1) He just said in the OP: Ambient was 15C, and core around 60C. 725,300 is not overclocked... And yet you immediately start your post with a baseless attack.

2) That metal plate acts as a heatsink for the RAM chips on the back of the board. You really don't want to remove that... You ever taken a 5970 apart before?

3) They only run (up to) 5C cooler when you replace the stock thermal paste IF the paste is dried up (or borked from the get-go). I've replaced the paste on many cards, and depending on the condition of the old paste, it sometime has no effect. I doubt he's going to go from 62C to 57C just by swapping his paste.

4) Seasonic is the best. Period.

5) Those are probably $150+ rack mount chassis. Especially with those 3 fans all blowing one direction...that prolly has better air flow than a standard ATX (but is also probably louder).

Stop trying to downplay other people's hardware so you can lowball them offers. You did the same thing in my thread. His hardware looks legit, and high quality at that.

Agreed, you sound like a really smart forum basher.

1) He just said in the OP: Ambient was 15C, and core around 60C. 725,300 is not overclocked... And yet you immediately start your post with a baseless attack.
My "attack" was not at all baseless nor was it an attack,  likuidxd could easily state he never tried to overclock.  I am genuinely curious if you overclock 5970s that close to each other if the solder melts...

2) That metal plate acts as a heatsink for the RAM chips on the back of the board. You really don't want to remove that... You ever taken a 5970 apart before?
I agree completely.  You really do not want to remove the rear heat-spreader and why would you?  3rd graders in poor suburbs in Iraq read English better than you.

Perhaps if you learned how to read and comprehend the language of this post this part of my post would make sense "and take that useless metal blowback plate of the back."  Replacing the thermal paste is only a small part of the picture and as you said it only helps "IF the paste is dried up (or borked from the get-go)" which you wouldn't know if you didn't replace it.  The backplate is the major heat killer on most of these cards, it restricts a large percentage of airflow and keeps heat in.

4) Seasonic is the best. Period.
Thank you.  Do you have any reasons?  Higher efficiency? Lower cost? Cleaner output?  Anything?

5) Those are probably $150+ rack mount chassis. Especially with those 3 fans all blowing one direction...that prolly has better air flow than a standard ATX (but is also probably louder).

And?  Are you offering him $150 each or just pointing out your uncanny ability to value used equipment and determine the bowing direction of fans?

Stop trying to downplay other people's hardware so you can lowball them offers. You did the same thing in my thread. His hardware looks legit, and high quality at that.
You'll notice that I make fair resale offers or initial bids for used equipment everywhere, I also sometimes mention your hardware setup isn't as pimp as you think.  I assure you the two are as unrelated as you and literacy.

I'm sorry you are so easily offended are you an only child?

In the spirit of not trashing  likuidxd's thread I'll up my offer to include the SeaSonics at $110 each

No HDD or OS in these. I ran BAMT on a USB drive for mining in them.

I can include small HDDs from older servers that I have that were decommissioned
