[CLOSED] help me set voltages for 5970's to custom

I want to accomplish having my rig startup without requiring a user to set the clocks or voltages, so i schedule cgminer to open after login

I want to set all cores of my 3x5970 to different clocks and voltages, I'm mining with CGMINER
Windows 7 64-bit

PROBLEM: cgminer configuration file (cgminer 2.6.4, is not able to set my voltages over 1.05v which is the default high. it can undervolt fine)

Saphire Trixx, I can set everything manually, but when i select to load from startup it ONLY loads the first core voltage correct and sets the rest to .95 or .999 i forget which

MSI Afterburner seems to do the SAME THING

What else can I try?

Undervolt and run them in to the ground. All my 5970s run at 1.00v @ 740 MHz and I just let them run. Lower vddc keeps the vrm temps happy and the core temps happy. Just let them run happy and you'll achieve incredibly uptimes. High uptime is the key to succeeding as a miner.

Currently running 10 HD 5970s like this and they don't get me any gruff. Now, my HD 6870x2 rig is a pain in my ass and I'm about ready to take it out back and pump it full of .223.

Well, ya figure out whats stable, then make the BIOS changes appropriately =)

and that may be unstable after card is worn in im worried plus will it still auto shutoff? never changed gpu bios before

my 5970's would do 825 at stock volts and now they won't really do 810 reliably, so needless to say I will not run a 5970 without an undervolt period. Its just not worth it I run at 785 1.02 now so I'm losing maybe 10-15 mhash and saving alot of watts and prolonging the life of the card.

how long did you have at 825?

Bios mod a higher voltage and a lower clock and let cgminer set whatever you want after that.
You have to mod the gpu registers for the voltage not the voltages directly.

The safest route IMO is still BIOS modding. When the GPU's become unstable after theyve "settled in", although Ive never personally experienced this, you can still flash new settings to the card. Or you can find whats stable now and be conservative even more, in anticipation for the "burn in"...

Its safest to do bios mod because if cgminer screws up and doesnt apply voltages / clocks correctly , or it bugs out .. you have the hard BIOS clocks / mods there to back it up.
Ive flashed all my 5970's to 725/500/1v just in case cgminer freaks out. From there I have cgminer apply 760/300/1v settings on windows boot.
You could easily just flash to 760/300/1v(given my example/situation above) and not have to worry bout setting clocks at all after windows boots.

And yes, if cgminer detects a dangerous situation, it will still attempt to stop mining on the GPU, BIOS modding doesnt change that.
Also, if you care about the longetivity of ur card, I recommend not going over 1.05v PERIOD. It puts immense strain on one of the GPU's VRMs , usually leading to a VRM overheating situation, also the RAM can be damaged due to prolonged exposure of such high temperatures from the HSF.
