I like to believe that it was due to panic selling by investors to mitigate the size of their loss but looking on further...it's looks more to me like some automated bots doing all the selling.

300 dollars is just barely 10% away from around 275. Wild fluctuation is the norm for bitcoin price.

well I dont really pay to much attention to the daily prices but I do like to buy when prices are cheap. When the payout cuts in half again for btc I see no reason why the price shouldnt double so I am not to worried long term.
