We kick off the new season with a special surprise: Thomas Voegtlin, the creator of the legendary Electrum wallet, is coming to Barcelona for the first time.

Launched in 2011, Electrum quickly became a favorite for Bitcoiners who wanted a lightweight yet reliable wallet to store and transact with Bitcoin. Over the years, it has remained one of the most respected projects in the ecosystem, continuously evolving with new features and integrations.

At this meetup, Thomas will share the story of Electrum’s early days and how it has grown over the years.
He will dive into:

Electrum’s design choices: custom seed formats, multisig, PSBT support, hardware wallet compatibility, and ongoing Lightning integration.
The Electrum plugin system: how it extends Electrum’s functionality and how developers and users can take advantage of it.
Electrum Nostr integration:
- New python package: electrum-aionostr
- Submarine swaps over Nostr (trustless swaps without HTTP endpoints).
- Ephemeral Nostr keys for clients and persistent identities for providers.
- The Nostr Cosigner plugin for multisig workflows with PSBTs.
- A proposal to mitigate spam on Nostr by notarizing all posts.

This is a rare chance to meet one of the historic developers of the Bitcoin ecosystem, ask your questions directly, and get insight into the roadmap of one of the most trusted wallets in Bitcoin.

Imagina escuchar una conversación entre dos amigos, hablando sin filtros sobre el futuro de Internet… pero con la puerta abierta para que tú entres y participes.

Eso es lo que plantean Adrián Bernabéu y Jordi Llonch Esteve en este encuentro: un diálogo cara a cara sobre Nostr, el protocolo que está redefiniendo cómo nos comunicamos y quién controla nuestra identidad digital.

El formato es cercano y dinámico: no hay una charla rígida ni un PowerPoint interminable. Hay una conversación abierta en la que los asistentes pueden sumarse con preguntas, comentarios o experiencias.
