Every time a block is mined, a certain amount of BTC (called the
subsidy) is created out of thin air and given to the miner. The
subsidy halves every four years and will reach 0 in about 130 years.

That's easy, do you want that? Actually, before I got an awesome free Casascius coin I was planning on making a trip to Wal-mart to get some BTC to order one...but I was actually waiting for the price of BTC to fall some (looks like that might not happen as soon as I expected). |
