Kalifilm Productions is launching their new crowdfunding campaign on Bitcoin this Friday, and to celebrate, we're throwing a launch party in Berlin tomorrow evening (Thursday 8th Jan). We aim to finance our next short film, "The Stag Night" entirely with Bitcoin, and we plan on giving back to the community by paying for as many of the production costs as possible with our favourite digital currency. "The Stag Night" is a short horror film and will be adapted by award-winning filmmaker Lara Celenza from a short story by Italian novelist Andrea Cacciavillani. It will go before the cameras this summer and we'll be shooting on location in and around Berlin.
The launch party will begin at 7pm at the Cosmic Kaspar inside Mein Haus am See at Brunnenstraße 197/198, right next to Rosenthaler Platz U-Bahn. There will be an advance screening of our pitch reel, live music by some of the artists who will be working on the film's soundtrack, a reading by the author of the short story that the film is based on, and talks from the organisers of some of our local Bitcoin meetups here in Berlin. Afterwards we'll be heading to the monthly Bitcoin Stammtisch at Room 77. Everyone's invited so don't forget to bring your friends.
