I expected it to pop below 300 and after breaking this level for the real capitulation to start, but didnt expect to fall this fast.

This is really bad news that the price isnt rebounding much at all. Volume is high and people are getting the fuck out as quick as they can.

Nobody is buying into that cheap coin bullshit.

We are going to test 200 very quickly. The capitulation looks to finally be hitting. This is worse than I even expected.

No its to just state that this is getting interesting. People dont need warning, the price dropping and staying below 300 is enough.

-no buypressure
-3600 coins sellpressure every day no matter what
-low interest in bitcoin because is declining for more than a year - very bad performance for such a  groundbreaking tech.

math helps here

blame the long halvings

everyone invested already what they could afford to loose - so now we are loosing it ... everything goes according to plan.

Nothing to see here. Everything's normal.

With all the companies now dumping the bitcoins they received from customers during the lead up to xmas is probably putting some downwards pressure on the price now.
The last couple of months i've been buying a few dolars worth whenever the price is at $300 or below, and i've done well when it goes back up $20-$50 a coin. Sell a few, make a dollar and buy again when low.

Of course, since the people who control the market are the exact same people waiting on their paycheck every month so that they can afford to pay their water bill.

Enjoy your brief moment of pleasure at seeing the price drop Edward50.

Of course the price is still 140x higher than when you decided it was too expensive and Bitcoin was dead for the first time, four years ago, in 2011.

C'est la vie.

does bitcoin rebound? Every time?

For 6 years now.

There's no reason for it to change now. If anything, these silly little dips should decrease in frequency.

The US dollar actually is the most stable currency in modern finance. By most measures it's price is very stable.

Generally speaking whenever any kind of security goes below a major support level it's price tends to fall significantly below such level

Well it was 275 earlier today and when I checked a moment ago it has gone back up to 287, in just a matter of about 8 hours period. At least this indicates there are still people buying the coin and not the complete dump scenario everyone thought it was happening.

Anyway, it's too early to tell what would be the next direction from here. Either it will move up again and recover above 300 or just continue to slide. Let's just keep the fingers crossed.

Care to explain? Yes the dollar does suffer from small amounts of inflation, however even after inflation is taken into consideration it is still very stable?

Time is on our side.

Problem with this rebound theory is bitcoin is way too high in price. Rebound yes, but from 50 to 80. Not 265 to 1000.

Nobody is buying into that cheap coin bullshit.

I dont consider $260 to be cheap coins.  If I wanted to blow hundreds of dollars on a "share" of something, I'd go blow $50,000 on Google stock.  Pretty sure they're going to go up in value too, but I dont hop on board there because hundreds is too expensive for me.

Cheap coins are sub-$100.

The price of a share is completely arbitrary and meaningless. Would you be okay to buy google stock if they just increased the # of stocks offered 100X decreasing the cost by that much? (same question for bitcoin we could make it 21 trillion  'Bitcoins' and give you 'cheap coins')

sub 100 coins would be extremely cheap. I would somewhat doubt that we will go that low however. We appear to have strong support at the ~260 level and likely have strong support at levels below that as well.

I would also buy up massive amounts of bitcoin if I could get them at sub 100 levels Smiley
