Like the title says.  I don't pay for hydro so I'm not worried about my consumption at all.  I want to mine out of my apartment so noise and hashrate are my only 2 concerns.  What would be the best I could buy that is quiet and under $1k

Buy antminer S5 and a quite fan. Replace the fan on antminer S5 and you have a quite high hash machine Smiley

S5 is  341$ for 1155 or 0.295$/GH

2x S3 is 200$ used oon ebay for 886 of 0.226 $/GH

You may also think about the heat generated by the miners.  This could be a 'bonus' if you use them to heat your place, but a nuisance if you need to operate an airconditioner or vents/fans to extract the heat.

cheers

Antminer C1.

I really hope Bitmain design a new C2 with the S5 chip.

4x S5 chip would be quite nice

Yes, since S5 PCB is single side heat it can be fanless 3TH/s machine with 4 blades and decent factory OC. Very quiet and strong.

Bitmain unfortunatelly is not planning C1 with S5 chips. It is e-mail response from Bitmain to me.
