Hello, I have recieved a caution advice notice just a few days back from my bank(HDFC) mentioning all my bitoin transactions dated back to 2013. Has anyone else noticed similar notice?  It also said ""revert within 30 days from the date of this letter or the bank will be constrained to restrict transactions in your account without any further reference to you"". Does that mean I have to write them back?

You are under surveillance. Move your money while you still can and close your bank account.

How did the bank come to know about these transactions? Did you put anything related to bitcoin in the transaction remarks?
Or were they transfers from known exchange accounts?

In India day by day the bank issues are becoming a big problem for all cryptocurrency traders due to RBI rules but we don't know when the problem are going to fine in India regarding bitcoin or cryptocurrency market I hope that it will be going to end with good news very sooner.

Yes. If you want to continue using your account, you will have to respond to them.
They probably will highlight their terms and conditions and allow you to continue using your bank account. You haven't done anything illegal.

I still want to know how the bank knew about his bitcoin transactions. Did you explicitly mention bitcoin in the TXN remarks?

I am sure he traded at some Indian (non-P2P) Exchange. It is not difficult for banks to find out the current a/c no. of Indian Crypto Exchanges and then find list of all the customer IDs who transacted with that a/c no.

I am interested to know, those who are facing bank inquiries, did u use savings a/c or current a/c for trading?

I traded at exchanges . The first one (2013) was not a proper exchange I think. It was called buysellbtco.in or something like that. The recent ones are with Coinsecure. Both were not P2P.

Ah that's why.
I'd suggest going p2p. There are a few trustworthy traders. Just trade with us and you'll be fine. The bank won't know you're trading Btc.
