this is the good time(not so much late) to invest in this...in future the plastic currency will convert  into internet currency..so this a much good time to invest...
ether,bitcoin,everex,minex coins are good options

If I had a spare $5000, I would put 40% in BTC, 30% ETH and the rest on a few alts that show potential but that is up to you on what you choose.

I think it's not a good choice to invest in Bitcoin right now, before hardfork. Most probably it will be BTC price correction soon, so, it's good time to buy altcoins now. In my opinion EDO, ICX, REQ, CND have a big growth potential in the nearest future.
