Just downloaded and installed Armory v0932 on a Vista PC to receive my first BitCoin transaction.

However it says it is off-line. There is no button or option to go on-line, sync or anything like that.
There is no reason givn why it is offline. All other network connections are running just fine. The announcement update seemed to work fine, so other parts of the program can connect,

Did some reading - apparently there should be a core programme BitCoin QC?
I cannot find this but I would assume that any critical application components are installed by the installer ... otherwise what's the point? The executable that was installed by the installer is called ArmoryQC.

Any help please? Or is it better to go for a web wallet?

The network tries to produce one block per 10 minutes. It does this by automatically adjusting how difficult it is to produce blocks.

You need to download Bitcoin Core and have it running alongside Armory. It's possible to have Armory auto-manage BC Core so that you don't have to open it manually.
