Looks like it's working. Only CPU mining at the moment. I'm mining with an 8 core CPU and am getting about 2 ELEMS per hour.

The minting for a coin like ELEMS can be done in the same Nxt client. No special mining software needed. It's CPU mining only, such as in the early days of Bitcoin! Everything is starting all over again. Be one of the first in a real second generation cryptocurrency!

You can mint more than 1 ELEMS at a time and only pay the 1 NXT tx. Change the units minted in the config file to 2.

You don't have to mine coin one by one. You can choose to mine 5 or 10, or more.

Since you have to pay 1 nxt everytime you mine, it's best to choose a number big enough to mine like 1 or 2 time a day.


Example : if you choose to mine 1 by 1, and you get 1ELEMS/hour. You get 24 ELEMS at the end of the day but you payed 24 NXT
So you just have to change the seetings to make the minter mint 24 ELEMS. At the end of the day you get the same amount of ELEMS but you pay only one NXT

You can but it may take longer to find something.

You could make it even nxt.mint.unitsPerMint=100  to 1NXT for minting but it may take multiple days to mint that much.

I would suggest nxt.mint.unitsPerMint= 2 or nxt.mint.unitsPerMint=3 or so if you feel that your CPU is strong enough. Or if you don't mind being patient or are just lucky with higher numbers. It may take a couple hours at least for 15 unless you have a very good CPU or are just lucky.

nah a minting transaction costs 1 NXT. Which is why you need to have a small amount of NXT to start minting.

So you put your parameters at 1NXT=1ELEMS (unitsPerMint=1) or you could do 1NXT=100ELEMS (unitsPerMint=100) anywhere in between and maybe even more. Just depends on how lucky you are with the CPU you have. The best rate would be something above 1 just so you aren't exchanging 1ELEMS for 1NXT.

If you have 10 NXT, and do a (unitsPerMint=10) then every 10 ELEMS you get will cost 1NXT. The thing is you need to be lucky or have a good CPU to get that 10 ELEMS in a timely manner (depending on things like difficulty and such as well). Since you won't mint anything until you reach the 10 ELEMS point and if you quit before you mint anything you don't get anything. With 10 NXT you could do 90 ELEMS (if you set it at unitsPerMint=10) and use the last 1 NXT to set up an exchange in the 'Exchange Booth' where you can set your sell rate at a higher price than your buy rate. (depending on the market and the Rate of NXT per ELEMS others are selling at).
