Another Checkcoin deserter here, looks like you guys beat them to it. I was a little hesitant to invest, but now I see that you are actually developing I pulled the trigger. I only invest in product, not just ideas. That's so 2013.

It's best to invest in some solid development rather than promises made without any code backing them.

Dude, just cool it with the FUD please, I'm in XAI and XQN as well. Why hate on other coins that attempt to do something different? There are no guarantees in this business, but so far GEO looks good imho.

not hate. i would want to see the code to verify it, that video is meaningless and adds fuel to the speculation of what some are saying here about the tech not happening

I think you can review the code after it is ready. You couldn't expect to get it now, it is still under development. Perhaps if you contact  @Tobler you can learn more.

I see some sceptic posts and I'm not 100% convinced.
GeoCoin is now 1 day on Bittrex and about 20% of the coins are there waiting for a trade

Hmm even with this progress, I'm usually skeptical of projects developed by newbies/jr members of bitcointalk.org, but this does look interesting. Could you explain how you expect to geodashing/geocaching to work?
Like what devices would this work on?

Perhaps you can elaborate a bit about your background and other developers on this project?

Yes 32k$ is low if they deliver what they promise. But I think 20% of all the coins on Bittrex after 1 day listing is much and if you look at the distribution there are some big owners. This is not the bitrex wallet but from a whale. I keep my coins but it is going to fast going up and it can going fast down if the whale wants his profit. The people who wants holding GEO keep the coins in their wallets.

What I really love about this coin, through doing more research, is that GIS is a huge industry. I didn't know. Which means people in this industry will be interested in investing. Also GIS people seem to get nice salaries so we have kind of a rich niche market already

Mosts devs have a single goal, but what about after that goal is accomplished? After reading about GIS it is a little mind blowing   basically an unlimited amount of applications here. Just keep building geo + crypto apps and GEO with only continue to grow. For the first time in a long while, I am super excited about crypto again. Thanks for your hard work and brilliant vision.

I think the Geocaching side may be underplayed. We know GIS is huge market, but will require some hard work for tobler to get something useful integrated into coin form.  Geocaching I envision being used by advertisers possibly. Imagine your mcdonalds, or similar establishment setting a geocache every few hours for a couple coins. that'd surely get some amateur miners through their door. (once crypto is more mainstream)

That is a very interesting idea, the marketing applications alone could be huge.  I saw other users here mentioning setting up faucets in commercial locations which would also bring miners in.

I could also see the geocaching game working well for site seeing and tourism groups, trying to draw tourists to historic places, attractions and tours.  Lots of potential for sure!
