What if he simply doesn't have the extra money to lend out, anyways... I don't see any reason why I would scam now when I had plenty of opportunities to scam in the past.

I have both fiat and altcoin that I can sell off just in case. I never dig myself too deep of a hole that I don't have a big enough ladder to climb out of.
