Would it be acceptable to ask Ckolivas to do some updates in this thread and/or give donators a sneak preview at early versions. I know this was not part of the deal but it would be a nice bonus.

Is this bounty for a Litecoin GPU miner only or a CPU+GPU miner?

currently it is starting to work under linux - I do not see any "special deals" for donors coming Smiley

The request was for a GPU miner so I didn't intend to create a cpu miner.... Having said that, I incorporated the CPU mining code anyway for its sanity checking, but you won't be able to use it unless you compile it yourself once it's released, just like the current cpu mining code.

Note that you can increase the hashrate further, on both this and reaper BUT it starts generating garbage. I know people have claimed higher hashrates, but be wary of these claims and look at that successful share submission rate. My mining rig is really struggling behind the weak wifi it runs off when trying to submit 1300 shares per minute. I'll be tweaking the command line settings so they mean something more useful though since intensity of -3 will be rather confusing, so I'll change the scale for scrypt.

Atm the reaper opencl code sucks. My 5870 generates about 420kh/s, to use as a reference. So it should be getting like 6-700 or more from a 7970.

Some Litecoin pools serve a share target that is inadequate for GPU mining (target too high/easy, therefore causing too many share submissions).
You may want to try mining at pools with a lower/harder target, like Nicksasa's notroll.in, or against P2Pool, which adapts the target to the miner's speed.

There are settings for which reaper does not return high quantities of stales at high aggressions with few stales, they were being posted up on BTC-e the other day.  As I recall the thread concurrency used was something around 10240 (maybe slightly higher, but still around 10k).

Would it be acceptable to ask Ckolivas to do some updates in this thread and/or give donators a sneak preview at early versions. I know this was not part of the deal but it would be a nice bonus.

Is this bounty for a Litecoin GPU miner only or a CPU+GPU miner?
GPU only miner

currently it is starting to work under linux - I do not see any "special deals" for donors coming Smiley

Aaahhh... Since the GPU gap between CPU and GPU Litecoin Miners is much smaller than with Bitcoin Miners, I think that the Litecoin CGMiner MUST mine LTC using both CPU and GPU simultaneously.

Maybe for next version?

Mmm.... So, Pooler's ASM code is within this new Litecoin CGMiner?
I love CGMiner API and others stuff, it is very professional... minerd not.
Anyway, it is great too! No problem using it for a while...

The good 7970 settings are listed in my post, it's an issue of both drivers and the correct thread concurrency/quantity

No where.

Sorry for the confusion... I'm from Brazil and talk in English is a pain for me... lol

Let me try to explain it a little more...

1- What is the BEST Litecoin CPU miner code? Pooler's code?

If yes, then, grab it and put into Litecoin CPU CGMiner.

If not, I mean, if Litecoin CPU CGminer is as good as the one from Pooler, do nothing, just ignore me.  =P

Cheers!

But how many accepted shares does it generate at that alleged hashrate?

According to the pool, about 55k accepted since the night of July 18th ( almost 3 days now) but I also game on this box. I also have a tri 5970 rig that has 250k+ accepted shares. I've found that the thread concurrency switch in reaper has a lot to do with stales/invalids. Also the calculated pool speed is usually +/- 10% of 420, right now at 436.

keep in mind, scrypt was intentionally gpu hostile.  you cannot extrapolate what one gpu 'might' or 'should' get because another is getting x  this is not btc mining.

on another note, i will not even try and figure out what all the setting mean until conman gets done cleaning up the code.  then i will devote some gray matter to the settings.

till then all my(120) gpus happily hashing away 8 dollar btcs Smiley

Guys do you know the best settings for a radeon HD6950 with unlicked shaders for reaper? As I managed to get it running without stales but performance is much lower than I expect with my card.Thanks.

Thanks. Alas I cannot seem to get anywhere near these values with my 7970s. I remain very very sceptical. I can easily push the values up to those hashrates, but the amount of useful shares drops to 10%.

have you tried just using reaper with those setting? and not just its kernel, although it shouldn't make a difference.
