I've seen in other threads that in the last few weeks SEPA transfers at MtGox have been pretty slow, but my transfer landed on their account more than a week ago, and I still can't see my balance updated. Anyone else whose transfer took that much?

My last transfer to them took well over a week (8-9 days IIRC). Support told me it's because of their AML (anti money laundering) procedures. I've since switched to Intersango, where transfers take about two working days.

Before you do, I should warn you: volume on Intersango is extremely low, which often results in higher prices than on MtGox. I think their interface is quite kludgy compared to MtGox. And their support person was not very helpful the one time I made a ticket (however, they are very helpful on IRC). But for their SEPA processing speed, I love them. And I really wonder what goes into MtGox' AML process that makes it so slow.

It should be the sheer volume on MT.Gox that made them so slow. Try getting hold of one of their employees here if you want a faster service IIRC.

First and most important, I'll wait until my account is credited Smiley After that, I'll see what other similar sites can offer, obviously the volume on MtGox probably makes them every noob's first choice, including myself.

If you want to trade EUR/BTC i recommend https://bitcoin-24.com/
Their SEPA deposit and withdrawal is processed in 24-48 hrs on business days, depending on the time of the day you initiate it.

Here's what you should do.

Never use MT Gox to withdraw cash.

[ANN] Update on SEPA and PLN Deposits/Withdrawals

Mt.Gox Support
posted this on Jul 20 11:43
We have been experiencing delays with SEPA  and PLN deposits and withdrawals recently due to the more stringent AML requirements placed on SEPA transactions as well as the change in how both European accounts will be handled.  Prior to this,  everything was done in Poland and now we will be moving the process to Japan.  We apologize our users for the inconvenience caused.   We are working on improving the connection between the Mt.Gox accounts in Europe and the system in Japan to help to speed deposits and withdrawals which requires a rewrite of codes that handle deposits and withdrawals. After this process is completed, both deposits and withdrawals for SEPA and PLN will be back later this week.  Thank you for your patience and kind understanding in this matter.

Thank you all for the useful replies. For your information, my account was credited this morning, after 11 days (7 working days).

I never deposit via direct transfer to MTGOX, first I used Paxum and now use aurumxchange.com, easy and very fast (~ 48h), highly recommended.

Sorry for my bad english Wink

I know Dwolla withdrawals are 8 business days right now even if you are verified.
