I have two laptops that are super old, aka circa 2005.  One is a Dell Inspiron 6000 and the other is an HP Pavilion DV4000.  Both have integrated video cards.  Is their an external video card that I could plug in and let these guys just sit int he corner running all day?

There is probably not much you can do.

I, personally, pulled an old Dell out of the closet... it had a couple of PCI-e slots, and I am using that. Surely a similar machine to what I am using (A dimension E580 or something like that) could be had on eBay for next to nothing compared to some of the external PCI-e setups I've seen.

vennardk, check out the following thread I started on some possible laptop options. I'm currently in the process of working out how to do it for cheap.
