out of the 5 tips I have sent out only one was Delivered 4 are still out for delivery  Undecided

People have been trained not to click links they don't recognize or understand.

This is going to be the biggest hurdle to adoption.

Maybe they should allow a way to claim back the tips which haven't been accepted(But they probably won't as they benefit rom this).
Some one tipped Bill gates the other day on that bitcoin interview, and obviously he won't be accepting it, so its going to go to waste.
EDIT: They Do ! Smiley ,  Thanks to gjgjgj for bringing this to our attention: https://www.changetip.com/faq

That's actually a really good idea.  Someone should suggest it (politely) on the changetip reddit sub.  The guys involved in changetip don't seem to be the type to get greedy at this stage, so I don't think they'd say a blanket "no" to the suggestion at all.  In fact unclaimed tips are going to be a major problem (large quantity) in the future.  So its an issue that should be addressed early on.

I think may be a timer with an expiration, and the funds are put back into your account.   They collect fees only if the tip is collected.

...

dont really agree with that imo; tipping small amounts to showcase the potential of BTC i think is ok, and not really comparable to tipping in the real world - its not done for the amount actually tipped or the implied 'generosity' behind it, but just to showcase what can be done with the tech. At least i think it is for most users at this point in time, in the future when 'everyone' uses btc tipping systems (or similar) casually in every day life then it will be more analogous to tipping in the real world and the etiquette would be comparable. but for now i think were focused more on spreading adoption.

any halfway intelligent market/promo person (particularly involved with charities im thinking) who notices lots of people tipping organisations on fb or twitter will see the potential for 'viral fundraising' if they adopt it and look into getting it on board (regardless of how much people tip these days with it, they hopefully see the potential as a new means to raise funds).
and adoption spreads though these kinds of actions, when they see other people using BTC with changetip or whatever else, they are more likely to look into it for themselves - i cant think of a better way to get the average person into it than changetip/facebook (and i cant see how to get an organisations attention in a better way either: lots of people sending them money?!).

Now - im thinking more about people tipping organisations, not individuals tipping a few cents to each other randomly (regarding that much i can see what youre talking about more, so - maybe were coming at this from different angles). for individuals i agree its better to send something substantial and point them to somewhere they can use it.

btw, I don't agree with everything in that quote I pasted either, it's just something I think bears thinking about!

Yes, showcasing the tech is a good point.

Well, I just love to tip on Reddit and I also use my personal Url --> http://Kprawn.tip.me in other forums, where it's not incorporated within their software yet.

I think the best thing to do, would be to make sure, you tip enough to make sure, they can buy something usefull with it. After you tipped someone, also include the following :

* You can spend money I just send you here : www.overstock.com / www.Dell.com etc.. etc.. {Include the link to a cool site, where she/he can spend the coins}

For people to accept a new currency or technology, is a big thing already.... make it easy for them and suggest some merchants accepting Bitcoin. The worst thing will be, when people accept the currency and they want to spend it, and the place where they want to spend it, does not accept BTC.

So make it FUN and easy for them .... ;-> Tipping someone 0.20 cents will not encourage them to use it.... Rather tip them $1 to $5 and more if you know them on their Birthday and make it worth it.

Remember, if they did not accept the tip, within a few days, it will be cancelled, and it will go back to your Changetip account. {So you have nothing to loose} Grin
