Coin Sponsor Program

Cryptsy's Coin Sponsor program gives the ability for a coin to be spotlighted on Cryptsy. To determine which coins are spotlighted at any given time a bidding process is used. Each coin is given a bitcoin address. Users can send bitcoin to a coins address to move it up the list. The top 4 coins on the bidding list are spotlighted as long as they remain in the top 4.

The balance of the spotlighted coins depreciates. Every 5 minutes 0.00034722 BTC is deducted from the address’s balance. If a coin drops out of the spolight position the deductions stop. For this reason the balance of an address on the blockchain can not be used to determine a coins position on the vote list. The current balance of a coins address will be displayed on the bid list.

Code: CON
Name: PayCon
BTC Payment Address: >>> 16NxyNV3G5YM1Q9Cq5fZNa1diwjpLJs67D <<<
Balance: 0.00000000

https://www.cryptsy.com/coinsponsors

I'm not sure if that would even be worth it considering it would be an ongoing cost in order to keep any one Coin in the limelight on Cryptsy itself so let's say it is 5 BTC worth of promiotion being at the top, that would be better spent on mobile clients, youtube videos, or promotions on fiverr (you can get an advert on a London bus for $5).

you don't need 5 BTC
just 0.3 BTC for a quick promotion on cryptsy
for sure youtube videos, websites, mobile clients ... would be better in the long term
we need more supporters

PayCon Version 2.0.1 has been released

Links have been updated in the OP to connect only from release tags in Github rather than a third party such as mediafire.

https://github.com/Crestington/PayCon/releases

Version 2.0.1 comes with a the change of Multisend GUI which replaces the CON for Charity function. Multisend allows you to send up to 100% of your Stake to multiple addresses of your choosing. Link to the Cryptsy market has been added to the social/exchange tab and a small fix to the Hashsettings.

5% - 10% of the stake should automatically send to the dev fund address as a minimum fixed size

I have thought about this method before but to send 5-10% of all Stakes to a set address would create 1 extra transaction every Block, which would double the amount of minimum data per Block.

I have about 470k CON currently set aside and is Staking and usable for different projects, I also have Stakes being sent as sell side to Cryptsy as I build a larger buy wall on the buy side.

Thanks, I'm working on the website little by little every day, I'm focusing right now on clamping down the security so I can launch it.

Is the update not mandatory?

No, the update is not mandatory. The changes between the last versions are client side and was the addition of Multi-Send GUI to replace Stake For Charity (graphical interface change) and a small fix to the hashsettings to return false if inputting an invalid value where previously if you put in an invalid value it would crash the client. You can still use Stake for Charity in the RPC calls, Multi-Send is just a better method.

Mandatory upgrades are if there is a change to rewards, base hashing difficulty, time drift (allowances or accepted time differences), min/max ages, or Block times, basically anything that has to do with the core protocol.

lol, I had to move my buywall up a bit, currently there is about 4 BTC depth down to about 800. I've asked for a little help with the website security so I can try to get it launched by this weekend and focus more on Blockchain work.

I've been thinking a lot about getting into snapshots and redemption into a new Blockchain because eventually I'd like to trim off all the excess blocks and redeem all the current balances into an even more improved chain. CON works very well for liquidity, security and a stable price but it's not enough for me, it needs to be better.

A new chain would be awesome, i remember you talking about something like an eth chain? Not sure how that would work out though.

Well it would work where we take a blockparser to make a richlist, take all the balances above dust and send all the coins to the same addresses in the new chain in the first Block, in order to retrieve the balance in the new chain you would just load your wallet. The big difference is that it would start the chain from Block 1 again and could make some more radical changes to the algo for better efficiency rather than spending the time trying to adapt the current code.
