I am skeptical of Coinhey

The exchange was created like 2 days ago by newbie accounts and promoted by brand new accounts. https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=966893.0

Volume also looks staged as well, has more volume than C-Cex already in a tight range https://www.coinhey.com/trading/CON_BTC

Withdrawl fee is 1% which is OK if you were running an exchange but it doesn't list it in the OP.

Support is also hard to get a hold of, can send them a message but no way of knowing whether it was sent or not and no description of how to get a hold of support.

When withdrawing there is no txid's and take a long time to process, I think all the withdrawals are handled manually.


I think it's important to support new exchanges but should just be careful if you decide to use it.

How much would it cost to have a basic exchange made? Coinhey looks like it was made with not much effort. What about if we made an exchange as a parody of newbie accounts and exchanges being hacked/dissappearing?

Something like Coinhey could probably be done pretty easily and could be handled with escrow manually, say like if you could place an order of CON but still be able to hold onto your own Coins. What if you could use BitCoin redeemscripts with timelocks on them for and set it up as an order to be completed with matching it with the receiving bitcoin address and PayCon address to send to.

We could just make it all fake and when you click on the deposit button it goes to a page with a picture of someone running away with Coins. Wouldn't even have to use real market data and just have text as the buy and sell walls.

It would have to be obvious that it's all a joke though and have no way to deposit money or atleast if you do, then have it where it does it like collecting donations. The guy that did Cryptohalve.com did it pretty well and even made some Coins doing it (like $10 so far lol)
