they should say that they are not regulated in California Smiley

they are not regulated in various states. I think the TV time has better use than give a list of site where they are regulated and where they aren't, info that anyone interested can easily get by himself

The more exposure, the better for BTC.

Exactly.  It is disappointing though how many states that are not able to operate in yet.  Still, this is good news for bitcoin.

Any reason why only certain states allow that? Is it because of different regulations?

Same things happens with weed http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Legality_of_cannabis_by_U.S._jurisdiction

Maybe USA is just too big and too diverse to offer 1 law for all, you'd have to look into the history of the different states.

Coinbase lied when they said they have a license in California. I think this is a subject not Bitcoin at TV.... Smiley

Coinbase does have license in California and they said otherwise. So, they are not a legitimate exchange

What an awesome thing that Bitcoin exposure in the media isn't even such a big thing anymore! It's almost a daily occurrence that Bitcoin startups and new services appear on "regular" news channels, newspapers, etc.!

I don't think they were so much lying but that people just misunderstood what they were saying. It appears that coinbase does not think they need any kind of license in CA so they are operating in CA (without a license).
