Cops going after kids shovelling snow is ridiculous.

But do you know what is more ridiculous?
This....
Many towns demand a license with paperwork and fees of $50+ to be paid to shovel snow.

I heard recently that in some cities in the US it is illegal to feed the homeless. This planet is fucked up.

Does it matter?
Laws and attitudes don't change when the government changes...

It's true. The premise is that feeding the homeless enables people to remain homeless, as if that was really the case.

Can you just imagine what it must be like in prison

"Better stay away from that guy, he feeds the homeless and doesn't give a fuck, he's so hardcore and dangerous, he'll fuck you up"

I love this quote:
Quote
"One of the police officers came over and said 'Drop that plate right now,' as if I was carrying a weapon."

It sounds like a tragic comedy. It would be hilarious if it wasn't so sad.

You couldn't even make this shit up if you tried. Truth is truly stranger than fiction.

Indeed. Not to mention that this will likely discourage some young hotties from offering their services!

The police already went after the kids running lemon-aid stands. I guess the lemon-aid stands they were busting were not collecting enough revenue.

P.S. this is not at all a misrepresentation of what occurred. Police are armed and unaccountable revenue collection agents, not peace officers.

There were a couple threads on this in this forum. Really sad the attitudes expressed in there; some people going so far down Doubletalk Lane as to claim that arresting people for feeding the homeless was in defense of individual freedom.

I guess this is only in one or 2 countries.

In the UK they never give any problems whatsoever.

Thats because in the UK, the police are unarmed. If they step out of line they get beaten back into line. In the US, some one could be laying face down on the ground handcuffed and get shot in the back for "resisting".

IDK... maybe there should be something saying that a proportional tax goes back to the state as for what the state provided to allow the business to operate.  I don't think some kids shoveling snow should get hassled by the man for a side business before they've even come of age.

The state is just giving them a little taste of the rest of their lives. You can never train them too young!

It's true that, especially at protests things don't always go the right way, the problem is though, the murderous psychopaths out there are still going to get you one way or the other and the police will be even less capable of responding to it, that said, it didn't stop a police officer at one protest dragging a disabled guy off his weelchair.

This reminds me of my favorite police meme:

German police are a reminder that police can be armed and not gun-crazy at the same time.
