Congratulations bitcointalk - we just reached the milestone of 1 million posts!

1,000,000 Posts in 59,896 Topics by 59,913 Members since satoshi launched it on November 22, 2009.

This forum has provided a home for the Bitcoin community in the rather wild and exciting first years of its existence.
Here's a big thank you to the hosts and mods who continue to keep this place a friendly one and of course to all of you who made this forum a continuous source of inspiration, knowledge, drama and entertainment Wink

I'm looking forward to the next million posts - go Bitcoin!

Hehe. I was wondering whether there'd be a lot of "1M get" attempts, but it's exactly one post, and it hit. Cool

This should be in "Meta" though. I wonder if it's still post #1,000,000 if it gets moved.

Edit: It seems that Bitcointalk is becoming fairly large. big-boards.com lists 185 larger boards, but many seem to be older and not as active now. Admittedly, since it's missing Bitcointalk, it's probably missing some others as well. Still, we had over 50k posts per month in all but one month in 2012.

Wink Yes maybe, but I figured this is also a milestone for the Bitcoin community as a whole and not just for this forum!

With all the discussions about the Bitcoin price being manipulated and Bitcoin being nothing more than a big circle-jerk, the activity on this forum is an invaluable source of information about the size, diversity and sentiment of the Bitcoin community. Bitcoin is not just a few big players that pump and dump on Mt. Gox but it is a lot of people all with different ideas, plans, talents, ideologies,... reflected in all these posts. There simply is no other place that represents Bitcoin any better than this forum and 1 million posts is quite an achievement for the community IMHO. Feel free to move it though Smiley

That is just sick, theymos. Really? I had a feeling about you! And don't think for a second I wouldn't conduct one of my infamous background checks on you. In fact, I already have you cheese-head.  Grin

Interestingly, if you subtract all of Bruno's posts under his name and other alias' (aliases? alii?) the total drops to around 500 000 posts.

I've added it. Hope it meets wiki standards, I don't usually make many wiki edits.
