I am actually kind of excited to gamble 1BTC and see what happens, but considering there has only been 12 invested. I am sure to lose :K

Not be so sure. Others have deposited 1BTC or 1.5BTC and they are making profits!

What would happen if I "invested" .25 BTC, then five minutes later I did 1.0. Would my .25 grow just because of my 1.0 deposit?

yes, your first invesment will grow for any later investment! This is a good strategy, since you are able to recover part of your inversion.

Even better: first invest 1BTC (let's say you get 10% of shares), then you invest 0.25BTC, first investment receive 10%, so you already recover 0.025BTC.

No, game will continue, even in this case. Check how i works and you can see that game is designed so even in case invested amount is lower than withdraws it works. If this happens, it just means some players will lose some amount of coins (but nobody loses everything) Smiley
