MT Gox: Green Address, what does that mean?

sorry I'm stupid. Could someone explain what this mean:

Also there is a second check box: "6 transactions". What does that mean? Are this most accurate transfers or what? Anything that sheds some light on the matter would be very welcome. Should I click on it? (I am a beginner.)

Green Address means that MtGox will send the funds from an address that other companies may or may not automatically trust without waiting for confirmations because the funds are being sent and backed by MtGox's reputation, much like a cashier's/certified check. Sites that support Green Addresses will specifically tell you. Otherwise, there's little harm in checking that box - all that will happen is that it might take longer for the transaction to confirm.

As for the Open Transactions checkbox, that means that even if you are sending bitcoins directly to the address of another MtGox account, the transaction will still be recorded on the blockchain. Otherwise, if the bitcoin address is used by another MtGox user, the transfer will be made internally and instantly on MtGox, and there will be no record in the blockchain that you sent the transaction - only MtGox can verify it at that point. Whether you want to check this depends on whether or not you need the transaction to be publicly auditable. This should always be checked if you are sending to Silk Road, because they use MtGox sometimes and they have a bug with detecting non-open transactions.

Without clicking any check boxes on MT Gox I have got my bitcoin very fast (maybe 10 minutes). After 3h I have got 17 confirmations. Is that good? For my next test I have checked the "green address" option. Again I have sent a bitcoin to my address. Got 12 confirmations untill now. The third bitcoin I have transferred with the 6 transaction check box on. It has 13 confirmations untill now. Do I really control this coins now?

I have sent 1.01234567 to 1MagedVeZqDtU4Jh5BdgvHpcWk9dXFzZY8, but there was a fee of 0.0005 BTC. So, did you receive 1.01234567 or less?

Of course. Technically, you control the coins as soon as they hit the network. After that, it's only a question of how certain you are that you control the coins.

0 confirmations: You control the coins, but a good attacker could still "double-spend" the coins elsewhere, causing them to no longer be yours by making the transaction no longer exist. If the transaction is coming from someone you trust, though, you have nothing to worry about.
1 confirmation: The transaction has been added to a block and the only way that the transaction can be undone at this point is if another block conflicts and overwrites this block. This happens fairly often just by random chance, so if the funds came from someone you don't trust, you should still wait.
6 confirmations: The network completely agrees that this transaction happened, and the transaction is almost impossible to reverse. Even if it is reversed by a strong attacker, the effect of such an attack would cause the development team to release an updated version of bitcoin that will lock in this original branch of the blockchain.

When it comes to how quickly you can be certain you own the bitcoins, what matters is how long it takes to receive the first confirmation. After that, every block that ever gets released "confirms" your transaction automatically.
