Every time a block is mined, a certain amount of BTC (called the subsidy) is created out of thin air and given to the miner. The subsidy halves every four years and will reach 0 in about 130 years.

Present rate of return is 8-10% per year. So 8 CBX per month would be a conservative guesstimate.

I just received the below quoted question via PM but in case others have the same query, I am going to answer it here:

Quote
Hi elambert

I would like to ask you a question regarding CBX inflation rate.

Earlier, there was mentioned that staking will receive 2% on annual basis

But at your last reply on the thread, you mentioned it will produce 8% to 10% per year

Kindly please explain which is the right one, i just getting confuse about this.

The inflation rate of CBX is 2% per year (actually it is closer to 1.8% but 2% is the target). This 2% of the approximately 1 million CBX in existence comes out to 20k CBX generated per year. This 20k is divided in the PoSP algorithm to payout in blocks every 1 minute (about .04 CBX per block). In order to earn a PoSP block, one has to have their Vault open and staking (CBX contained become eligible after 1 hour). This results in a far higher percentage yield for participating stakers since all CBX owners are not always staking (lost CBX, cold storage, coins held at exchanges).

PoSP has been running for 1.5 years and the metrics in this time show the 8-10% yearly yield rate.

So basically we have 2 different metrics going on here that you are confusing:
Inflation = 2%
Interest earnings = 8-10% currently

I hope this clarifies.

But is it possible to include a great/reliable exchange to buy/sell CBX ( instead of yoshit and f*ckingtopia )
Because (sorry in french) : https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1368328.msg19693678#msg19693678  Embarrassed

Unfortunately this is strictly a decision of the exchanges but we are of course all for it. I think volume and community requests combined will do the trick. However, if at the completion of this roadmap we are still not there (very difficult to believe) then creating our own exchange will be on the 2018 roadmap. It very well may he either way but we will have to prioritize projects at that point.

I am on windows 10 and no issue here. Are you syncing and then after 4-5 hours it crashes or does it crash while trying to sync?

That is correct although we will have something incorporated in the next Vault release (step 1 of the road-map). In the meantime you can go to the extraction tab of the CBX explorer https://chainz.cryptoid.info/cbx/#!extraction and calculate for yourself.

Presently 25% of the network is staking the last 1000 blocks so this means that the other 75% of the network is forfeiting their potential earnings to those who are staking. So the 2% in this scenario can be multiplied by 4 to estimate an 8% yearly interest rate on those staking continuously. If you have 1000 CBX and you stake for the year and all else remains the same, you will earn 80 CBX over the course of 12 months.

It crash when trying to synch (and i see the txleveldb folder each time became empty), to avoid the problem i downloaded from my linux vps a fresh copy of the folder synched at the last block and copied it to my windows 10 folder.
For now, the wallet is up to date, will see in few hours.

Thanks.

Updated the Roadmap, added full QR-code transaction functionality, staking reward yield estimates and the Foundation self-funding effort (as discussed in the poll).

Thank you for answering my previous concerns, I do find it intriguing so I had myself to bag some CBX .  Anyway that was a good roadmap, I hope to see them all done sooner than it was listed Smiley  Great job CBX team and good luck.

If we are going for a new more modern interface can we drop the hacker'y dark theme and go for something that looks clean and modern?

For example:

https://i.ytimg.com/vi/rPr_IIwToak/maxresdefault.jpg

White background, subtle watermarks and their blue theme. It's clean, elegant and looks highly professional - something an outside investor would have no concerns in about investing in...

Or, if the dark theme has to persist check out this wallets interface:

https://www.exodus.io/img/exodus-wallet-btc@2x.jpg

Black/Gold color llimited color pallette, clean font and everything is just very crisp Smiley

The superblock is so far a unanimous consensus. This is a critical portion of the 2017 plan as it will insure CBX has funding for ongoing development after completion of our present road-map. This is extremely exciting and guarantees a very bright future for CBX.

We will keep the poll up for a little bit longer and then put up a new one to gauge community input on another important decision. Next poll will most likely be to determine the amount of CBX necessary to operate a Bullion Participation Node (CBX dev team's brainchild of PoSP Masternodes).

I don't know about 50% (was 55 cents USD per CBX last night compared to 50 cents USD when I awoke this morning), but markets are volatile. I don't think it has to be a bad thing, just means that some with CBX sold to some who wanted to purchase CBX - coins exchange hands. We have laid out our road map and begun working toward completing it on the outlined time table. Some will like the direction we are going but some may not. The trend has been up so far and volume has picked up so we are certainly on the right track.

The results of last Poll are very clearly in favor for a 10 000 CBX superblock, which will be used on a Foundation-run BPN (masternode), and all gains from it will be destined to fund future development.

Here is the next poll: what amount of CBX should be mandatorily locked by a user to setup a BPN? This question is more tricky than we can see at first glance, and it's very important. In exchange for providing network block generation and user anonymity, BPN operators get higher reward and to get this privilege they lock a certain amount of CBX for a fixed period of time. This could help the price of CBX, because it will result in less CBX in the markets which can create a situation of scarcity; if we set this locked in amount too low, people will lock in small amounts and it won't help the market, while if the agreed upon amount is too high then many potential investors will not want to immobilize such a large amount of money and will not participate.

What amount of locked in CBX seems just right, in your opinion?

Please note that these amounts can work as increments on a given node; example, if we decide on option D, 1000 CBX, then a BPN can be setup with increments of 1000 (2000, 3000, and so on).

Happy voting!

I would agree about the too high or too low aspect.

Okay, here is what i had in mind, the price of 1 CBX now is lets say $1 and the lock amount is 5000 CBX. But that wouldn't be the case as time goes, the price will increase. So at a certain moment when the price is say $5 each then to use CBN with the same lock amount would be a really huge. Then even if the gains are higher putting in such initial investment would not be attractive. But if the lock amount is like 500 CBX to begin with, as the value increases and the price to run CBN would still be attractive.

Otherwise some dynamic lock amount system should be implemented which makes it worth the investment at any given time.

Being ambitious is good but CBX really has to compete with many alt coins out there.
