Does after the swap, address, public key, private key remain as same in the new vault as it is in the old vault ? or it will be imported into a new address

This is not so good news for those that have coins trapped on yobit if they don't bother with the swap. Hopefully some pressure can be applied to them to release ppls coins and swap to the new chain.

This changes nothing about the coins trapped on yobit, they will remain trapped. If at some point yobit converts them to the new blockchain or allows the rightful owners to withdraw, then the coins can be converted at a 1:1 ratio to the new chain.

Why are we reinventing the wheel with this I have no idea why if we are going to do a coins swap we don;t just fork off of pivX?  also all updates would come free then too.?

Could be done and ready to go in a very short time frame. Although best to let them sort out their bugs with zero coin implementation for a few weeks first.

An exact clone of an existing coin is not a desirable solution for us. We have our own ideas of how things should work and we have the expertise to accomplish these goals.

Couldn't this give people an opportunity to retrieve their Yobit coins? If they transferred their Yobit coins to a holding account (managed by a CBX core member) They can account for the fact that they exist and verify ownership as well as remove them from circulation. Then give an equal amount in the swapped coin.

I still have a concern that the new coin will have to be relisted on Cryptopia since a swap is viewed as a new coin.

But how will the rightful owners be able to swap after the snapshot? this is what i am saying if the snap shot happens before they can access their coins won't they lose the opportunity to swap?

This is why all pressure to get yobit to open their wallet should be applied before the snapshot.

Of course they could upgrade to the new cbx that would be even better.

Your idea about the yobit is interesting. But how do they transfer their yobit coins to a holding account?  explain it more because i like the sound of it as i stupidly swept up a bunch at yobit a long time ago and they have remained there hostage until now. I have been loath to create a yobit scam thread since other than this and a few other currencies they work rather well and have already given people their bitcoingold which is more than most other exchanges have done. Weird they are so good in some areas and so poor in others.

Well I'm more hoping cryptopia will see it as an upgrade and not a new coin listing. Upgrading a wallet costs less.

If we really do have the tech prowess here to code out something like the pivx entire team have done then we don't have much to worry about either way because if we are going to all this trouble to create something different to pivx and have their skills we will shortly be on many more exchanges.

I wonder what these core differences are to warranty all of this work. Even the pivx team seem to be causing a lot of issues getting zero coin patched in.

I have high hopes for cbx so which ever way is best for the project is good. I guess the devs here know best. I will trust in them.

Roadmap 2017 status report!

It's been too long since we published a development update and the reason for this has been that we stumbled upon an unforeseeable problem and realized we needed a new approach to allow this project to go forward in a timely fashion while not impacting on value.

What changes now is that we have decided not to let the new code be burdened by the existing old blockchain by attempting to make the new code accomodate it; this means that a CBX swap will be necessary, from old CBX to the new CBX currency instead of the simple seamless install of Vault 3.0 we had in mind. We still envision an elegant migration process: a snapshot of all existing CBX address balances will be taken, and then applied to the new CBX blockchain.

To regular users, the new Vault 3.0 will be able, upon first launch, to fetch the user's private keys which are in the old wallet.dat, and then from these old keys fetch his new CBX coin into the new blockchain. May I remind people that the CBX address' values will not be affected in any way by this swap, all balances stay the same.

The last hurdle we will find prior to alpha testing lies in the mandatory global money supply limitation of 250 000 CBX that can be associated to BPNs (masternodes) at any time. To address this, an innovative solution was proposed, applying a mutex; this solution is unheard of in the Crypto world and we think it will give good results.

Thank you for your patience and continued support

Thanks for the Update Ben!

Now posted in all communities.

Yes, the best thing for CBX was a Coin swap! Smiley

Yeah I installed everything every which way and got nowhere. Hopefully when your new wallet comes out I will be able to import my wallets. Again, very frustrating.

a mutex is a software construction that allows, in a multithread environment, to allow one node to 'speak' while the others are muted.

Hi thankyou for the update.

Hi,
In our context we gonna use it as a lock.
It's a kind of distributed lock that all peers gonna be aware of it's state.
The purpose is to know how much lock is placed, each time a masternode start it is closing a lock and when the masternode stop it open the lock. There will be a limited amount of lock available.
In order to have this distributed and sync through all peers, we will use a block to open and close lock.
Usually mutex are used in multithreading environment to avoid having two threads editing the same variable address at the same time.

Not sure if the lower case will be preserved by exchanges, etc. though  Undecided. CBXI would look like CBX-one. Are there other lowercase tickers?
