Bitcoin-themed art with Bitcoin 2.0 Tokens / Digital-Asset-backed Artworks

This is a first. These are one-of-a-kind original works that come with unique digital tokens that represent ownership. As the work is shipped, you will receive the ownership token at your Bitcoin address and will be able to prove to anyone that you do indeed own it.

Here's how it works. For each artwork, a digital photo is taken that shows details that cannot be duplicated: the specific arrangement of droplets of paint, the way a stencil bled, or paint dripped. A secure hash of the digital photo is then made and linked with a new Counterparty token, for which only one will ever be issued. If you're not familiar with Counterparty, it enables this project to create an asset with only one unit of the asset and to lock it so no more can ever be made. This makes it possible to easily and strongly prove the authenticity and ownership of the artwork.

The current works on offer are made with stencils and spray paint on 9"x12" Acid-free 50# paper and are suitable for framing.

Buy one and you will prove your alpha-geek status and show your smartest friends how deep the rabbit hole goes.

Reference images and corresponding assets - The links below are to the reference image for each artwork and to the token that represents ownership of the artwork. Each file was hashed to produce a 40 character string and that string was included when each token was created.

Frequently Asked Questions

Q: If I buy the artwork, do you I get a token that can be verified on the block chain?

A: Yes, each artwork comes with a unique Counterparty token that would be sent to the Bitcoin address of your choice. You could then verify receipt and ownership of the token by checking your address at blockscan.com or in your Counterwallet.

Q: How do I verify the token for my artwork?

A: The token is linked to the artwork by being issued by 15E5UWodQ33MYfUDkShaWA68hFrg8MJg8v and having a description which is the hash of the reference image. To verify the above and the linkage, you need the name of your asset and the reference image file.

1. Download the image of your artwork from the post above.
2. Calculate the RIPEMD-160 hash of the image. http://ripemd-160.com is an online calculator I setup to make verification easier. You can also use the following command on Ubuntu GNU/Linux: openssl rmd160 <filename>
3. Go to blockscan.com and use their Advanced Asset Search at: http://blockscan.com/search?mod=asset Make sure you check the box that says "Also Search in past Descriptions/Issuances" and then put in the file hash from the step above into the search box. The oldest result should be the official token for the artwork so just check that the asset name matches.

The race is on. Can you crack this key and steal the artwork?

Edit: The key has been cracked and the token transferred. Congratulations to the winner!

Hey, thanks again for the art (and for shipping it so quick)! I've been waiting until I had a frame and could hang it up before I made a post so sorry it's been a while.

Looks great and it makes an awesome addition to my crypto wall! https://i.imgur.com/q7ulvoE.jpg

Where did you get the posters from?

I got the poster in the center frame from the key-cracking contest weex held. The other posters on the wall are made by myself and a buddy of mine (we're actually going to be putting them out for sale shortly).

That is awesome! Looks much nicer framed. Good luck with your posters and if you might tokenize them or make them limited edition, you've seen one way to do it.

I think the Counterparty tokens are a great addition to these art pieces. Have you thought about making any type of bitcoin related objects (such as a bitcoin lighter/knife/etc) to add to your sales?

Edit: If you could have a nice custom bitcoin lighter (Zippo style) or knife made with an accompanying Bitcoin 2.0 asset for a reasonable price I will most likely purchase one Smiley

I actually have a bunch of 3d printed models that I've created. I'll get some pics of those up in case they're of interest. I could possibly 3d print a Bitcoin-themed handle to complete a knife blade but would need some idea of what shape of knife would work best to begin.
