I like the proposal but, I don't know why, I think that the gold color is needed and works fairly well on weusecoins.com

When doing Weusecoins we considered designing a new logo for Bitcoin, but eventually decided it was best to stick with what people were already used to. I'm usually not a fan of crowdsourcing design, but when a logo/symbol emerges victorious again and again whenever the discussion comes up, maybe it's time to chill out and roll with it.  Cool

North America has vertical lines.

$

Europe has horizontal.

If that's the reasoning I'm digging it. Bitcoin(s) not bitcoin?

Satoshi has horizontal.

¥

AFAIK, those extra lines in currency letters are there to denote stability, and IMHO horizontal lines convey this idea better. However, vertical seems to go better with letters like B and S, and the Baht symbol is quite established for Bitcoin already.

i like golden yellow better :p
I am personally not so fond of the current gold color, in my book it associates with casinos, get-rich-quick schemes and other scammy avenues.

This proposed color scheme is more professional and bank-like.

Ugh, no. I don't think bitcoins need a symbol at all, but if we must have one the thai baht symbol is much better than this.

That's just like, your opinion, man. I like that this symbol isn't used by any other currency.

Ok, professional's good. But bank-like? I don't want that either.

If we want Bitcoin to succeed, don't you think that the air of legitimacy a "bank like" currency symbol gives us is an asset?  If not bank-like, what kind of feel would you want it to have?

Bitcoin-like! Cheesy What does that mean? I don't know, but it's definitely the way to go! Realistically, bank-like may be the best way. I guess I just have a negative association with banks. Just the word "bank" makes me feel bad.

Well, I decided to make it official.  I changed everything on SquareWear to Ƀ. (Except for the shirts themselves that already have it built in)

Wavering back and forth between Ƀ and β, but either way, I really like bitboy's graphics. So heres bitboy's logo with Ƀ:

Maybe he will eventually become active on the forums once again, and remake it better than I can.

Thanks, I have seen the character you're all talking about, and I really like it. It's different to any other currency symbol I've seen.

I like this image:

Exactly, it needs to have two lines of security to be real money ... Atlas Shrugged.

One for public key other for private key ... cha ..... ching.
