I have received notification that BCY will be removed from Bittrex. Which is the best wallet to store the coins, which I must now remove from Bittrex?

The grue lurks in the darkest places of the earth. Its favorite diet is adventurers, but its insatiable appetite is tempered by its fear of light. No grue has ever been seen by the light of day, and few have survived its fearsome jaws to tell the tale.

I like to see that the team is still active, still we need a decent exchange. Daily volume is a joke

https://bitcrystals.com/products-services/wallets/ Chose yourself. I have them on Book of Orbs.
For bigger amounts I would suggest you paper wallet. I don't know whole procedure to crate one. You can search through the web for it. I assume you could also just make a wallet in BoO, write and store passphrase in safe place, then delete wallet on phone. So private key is not on it. <---more of a guess so do your homework before doing this

I think that is the best way forward to pool some funds for an exchange listing, but honestly the top exchanges these days charge just way too much.
With 25-50 BTC you can look at kucoin or hotbit for listing, even coinex is a decent option.

sorry, but I feel like I have been living under a rock those last couple of years.  what happened to the swapbots where partner, premium, and public merchants were able to buy game assets?  I can't find the website anymore.

I think swapbots were not working good enough when mempool gets full and they abandoned using them. Team is now doing public sales straight on markets (usually announced on twitter). If you have merchant account you could contact team and ask how to get cards for resale.

Swap bot service closed because of to little use. It was few months ago. Who had cards and coins on their swap bots had to empty them.

Tux exchange delisted BCY because people were making lot of small deposits and it costed more for them to pay transaction fees than they got from trading fees. Well, it was small exchange anyway, but now we have only Zaif where people are trading BCY against JPY, besides Counterpartys decentralized exchange with almost none volyme at the moment.

I dont know if users should collect funds for listing, I cant understand why Bitcrystals team cant get their coin listed somewhere when they are well known in industry.

I see problems with exchanges (
If convert BCY from Counterparty to Bitshares, BCY will take blockchain with very small transaction fees and builtin exchange.

That sounds dumb for Tux Exchange . They should just increase their withdrawal fees. You dont have any fees when you are receiving coins. Sender pay fee. If withdrawal fees were to small they should increased them. I believe you are wrong and reason should simply be that coin was not traded enough. But is silly since exchange is small so any volume is good for them.

That is what Tux exchange dev said on their chat for reason, besides talking something about possible "legal problems" or something like that what I did not figured out what was he talking about.

I dont know, maybe they have to redeposit user deposits to their main wallets or something.

Some exchanges have minimum deposit requirements, that also could have been a solution.

I believe that second should be bigger problem. Burning part of BCY place this token into some strange status.

I believe beside trading on counterparty DEX there is only one exchnage trading BCY. Zaif. But since is Japanese i never traded there. Not sure how hard that is for westerns. But for sure Zaif is one of oldest exchanges, so I should not worry about legitimacy.

I tried to register at Zaif earlier this week but they are no longer. Forget the rebrand name but they were not currently accepting new registrants. Then I see that Zaif was hacked a few months back. Yikes.

BTW since I'm not going to set up a wallet I have 5K+ BCY I will send to whomever wants them here. Better than letting them go to waste. I have to move them by 1/21 as I recall.
