YEAH, they broke BBQCoin.

Perfect guys, That was I excepted. Thanks, you take less than one month to destroy this altcoin! (I was excepting that you will take more than one month).

So, test is over, yes, after the first trading they 51% BBQCoin, now I know, the bit/litecoin community is a shame.
You can't make a (fake) altcoin without being attacked.
So, I just learned one thing, you are naive, attackers. And after you tell that you are against scams? How do you want people to get involved and help the bitcoin coders if you destroy any attempt of help which is not with the pure blockchain?
Anyway, opensource, that joke. Imagine, if BBQCoin was source-closed. No attacks. So, bitcoin, be closed source!

Thanks for all the people that beleive into bbqcoin, but YOU got scammed. Cheesy

Regards, Cubox, 16 old.

EDIT: Hmm, you know what, 6 and 3 are close. Sorry for the mistake.

There would be many many more attacks if BBQ/Bitcoin were closed source. Not too long ago a DoS vulnerability was discovered in the Satoshi client and chances are it wouldn't have been discovered if it wasn't open source.

Also, who would develop Bitcoin if it was closed source? And why would we trust the developers?

Cubox,

You need to consider what happened far more clearly. Look around you at successful alt chains, you have two (arguably three) which have withstood 51% attacks:

- Namecoin because it had a critical mass of support and performed additional functions. Still had to enable merged-mining to avoid the ire of BitcoinEXpress.
- Litecoin because it was pre announced with 0 blocks pre-mined, and allowed everybody a fair chance to get in at block 0. This meant it wasn't perceived as a scam.
- Solidcoin because its trusted nodes allow it to control which transactions are processed regardless of who controls the network.

When people see a new alt-chain start up with a large pre-mine from a closed group of people and relatively few additional features, they (rightly or wrongly) tend to think it's a scam.

When the person who wrote the code for that alt-chain claims that he was told it would never go public, and never start trading, they believe even moreso that it is a scam.

For what it's worth, I didn't point any hashes at either side of the conflict because my (very few) hashes are pointed at Litecoin solo mining.

You should consider re-opening for business in a more Litecoin-like manner, with a clear list of differences presented for all to see, and a reasonable (at least 60 hour) pre-warning before opening so all potential early adopters can be on board. Be prepared to bribe Bitcoin or Litecoin miners to defend the currency. The fact that it had so few hashes that a single miner could have 51%'d it was the real problem.

Sorry for what happened, but if you want to survive you have to understand the game.

Edit: Also, don't judge the whole community by the actions of a dozen or less people.

Um, can you show your evidence?

So far it looks like some 13 year old guy made a blockchain to learn more about this stuff and have fun, and you assholes ruined it.

How is it a scam? I don't see how a sane person would seriously invest into something called "bbqcoin", even more so when it was said that it is just for fun.

So unless this bbqcoin was a malware which steal wallets or something, you guys are overreacting.

Interesting revelation:

Code:
13     Konichua | Explain
13      ProgVal | Konichua: by the wqy, Cubox is not 13
13      ProgVal | he is 16 or 17
14     Konichua | How do you know?
14     Konichua | He said he was 13
14      ProgVal | because I know him for a few yearq
14      ProgVal | years*
14     Konichua | Well it's still his experiment
14      ProgVal | yep
14     Konichua | And who says he wasn't 10 when you met him?
14     Konichua | I could be 10 for all you know
14      ProgVal | because he has the grade level of a 16 or 17 years boy
14      ProgVal | and he certainly did not skip a grade

So, he lied for sympathy? I'm no enemy of altcoins, I've supported and used Namecoin since its inception and I use Litecoin and am actively defending it from a 51% threat now, but this guy just doesn't check out...

I know, even at 16 you're still a child Cubox, but experiences like this are to be learned from.

I don't care if he's 13, 16 or whatever. I have never attempted to perform a 51% (or any other type of) attack on any coin and have no intentions of ever doing so.

What concerns me is that he is a liar.

He said to the guy who helped him code the fork that it wasn't going to go public. He made it public.
He then said on the forum that it wouldn't be traded, then the same day he sold 100k BQC for Euros.
Today he's said he's 13 and he supposedly isn't.

Now tell me how I can believe anything he's said?

Edit: Having spoken to Cubox, he has confirmed that the '13' was an accident.

What concerns me is that he is a pathological and consistant liar.

I bought from him.
He refunded the money without me asking.
When I was talking to him on irc he said he didn't want to be a majority owner of BQC.

BBQ coin was a piece of shit. Who would invest in this shit, even judging by it's SpecialED name. Cubox is some 17 year old guy who can't code for shit. Fake coin? Yeah, that's why you had pools mining immediately. Fuck BBQfakefoodnoexchangesiteforfoodCoin. What's next? SushiCoin? EggRollCoin? Maybe my Mom will create TacoCoin, or my Dad with his specialty of CurryCoin?

Anyways, in honor of destroying your piece shit coin, we're gonna have a BBQ party which we can see if we cab buy some BBQ food for the people who helped in #BBQFoil.
