Make sure you back up your wallet regularly! Unlike a bank account, nobody can help you if you lose access to your BTC.

you should poke around the hardware board https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?board=76.0
Other than that, an antminer s5 or spondoolies sp20 are your best bets

Currently, the 2 best Bitcoin mining Manufacturers are:

https://www.bitmaintech.com/product.htm

and

http://www.spondoolies-tech.com/

If you're going hardware, these are the only 2 reliable and trustworthy companies to consider.

As for models, the best bang for the buck is either the Bitmain Antminer S5 or Spondoolies Tech SP20.

Great for hobby and home mining.  ROI, that's a whole other story though...

While they can be used for home mining, either of them is fairly loud when running at their normal rated speed. Be prepared to sacrifice some speed, and or tinker with the device if you want quiet.
