Was anyone watching this?
It was absolutely fantastic,
it incorporated so many points of their history and culture,
and wow what a light show.

Makes me want to go there now. Grin

It was exhausting to watch, just kept going and changing, but it was really worth it.
Giggling away the whole way through Rowan Atkinson's bit.

compared to China's opening ceremony it was like a high school play, though.

If you haven't seen this already, do yourself a favour and don't read the comments.
Same goes for all youtube videos I guess, but I for one always forget.

Been happening all day, copyright most likely.
Even though it says:removed by user.
But searching "Queens Entrance" should turn up something.

Saw bits of it, there were even countries I'd never heard about!

Quite amazing to see nations meeting like this, all shapes and sizes, to compete in the arena.

I'd wish it was a little bit less commercial, and no doping involved, but that's not going to change, is it ?

NBC's being cunts about having anything Olympics talked about or posted. In the US, you can't even watch the Olympics live, and NBC uses geoblocking to keep people from "Live" countries talking to people from "Primetime" countries on the Olympic Twitter page, likely among other content sites.

Here, RTE played the live feed and made their own commentary following a transcript they were given. Youtube videos show other countries doing the same. By the sound of this article it seems like NBC wanted their own camera work or nothing. Silly, silly NBC.
