Yeah there was that one lag spike in the beginning of launch but I haven't experienced any problems since then everything is running nice and smooth and no one is disconnecting. I think they took care of a lot of the problems. But there's probably more fixes to come but its progress is heading in the right direction. Great job ST7  Grin

I don't like the current buggy client, I like the client released in several weeks ago, at least it was smooth, no serious lag, and has sound.

Current client still doesn't have sound. The team should do more checks.

I have to close the client and play in betcoin poker now, betcoin has much better user experience than SWC.

SWC should do more tough jobs, come on I like SWC, don't let me down.

I haven't ever gotten the betcoin flash client to do anything other instantly crash.  And, I don't run .exes so I'm saying the same thing.  I'm rooting for swc here.  I hope I don't have to wait too long...

How come you don't run .exe?

Security, peace of mind, holiness, sanity.  I gave up on windows many years ago and I'm just not into tha proprietary stuff anymore.  Long live free software!

I see. So does that mean .exe can steal crucial info and passwords and such?

Most likely the seals one does not.  However, .exe's in general certainly can.  If you run Windows you have to trust them to take care of you (and they don't explain how they do this, and if you read the news you can realize that they don't really do a good job and I think their official policy is that you should contract this out to a third party like an anti-virus/malware company), so you decide for yourself if that system works for you.  It doesn't work for me, that's for sure.

I believe table starter RB overrides the krill rakeback.  So if you are earning table starter RB you are already getting 50% back and don't think any additional krill RB. So theoretically if you played only at 2 - 3 handed tables, you could earn table starter RB but no krill RB.

^this

Tablestarter is basically max-krillback possible.    The above is correct, and because we are just getting started many games are short and qualify for tablestarter.  If one only took the 7th, 8th, or 9th seat in a game, i.e. only wanting to play full ring, they wouldn't see any tablestarter and that krillback would prop up.

Basically you can almost never pay full rake at SwC, and "full rake" is already very low.

This should really be in the T&Cs for both table starter and krillback on the website.

I see. So does that mean .exe can steal crucial info and passwords and such?

.exe is just the compiled program file format for Windows. Every operating system has its own format. None of them are any more or less secure than the other. Windows is attacked more because it has over 91% of the desktop/laptop market, compared to less than 7% for Mac and less than 2% for Linux.

There's the fact that Windows is rooted by a company based in Redmond, WA.  I'm pretty sure that OSX is similarly rooted by a company in Palo Alto.  That, imo, makes those guys fundamentally different from GNU/Linux where you, the user, decides what to install and run.  Nevertheless, I didn't mean to get drawn back into this discussion of why "windoze sux"  (as others have said Smiley ).  I'm just still butthurt that angry policemen scared away my old friends at sealswithclubs and now how can I play poker on my loooong bus ride?

Site down??

Site is working fine for me. I saw this on there "Down for maintenance
The recent crashes and bugs are unacceptable to us. We have taken games offline for a projected 24-48 hours to make fixes and come back as a better SwC for all. Withdrawals and deposits remain live."  So I am guessing client might be down.

Everything is completely unusable for me now.

Sometimes I can join games but not for more than a few hands.

Give us 15 minutes

unplanned maintenance, we'll brb.

Expect another few days to a week to fully fix this issue, although I'll be sure we always make it right in the meantime while this issue persists.

My current SwC sound status

XP  no sound
Vista  sound
Win 7  sound

but even the XP machine had sound before the lastest major SwC software revision.  My hypothesis is that it has more to do with support for the audio codec needed to play the sound files for check, bet, raise, etc.

I just went to the folder where the SwCPoker sounds are installed (for me it is C:\Program Files\SwCPoker\sounds ) and played the WAV files for call, check, etc. successfully.  But this is on my Vista PC, so that is not surprising.  I will eventually try this on my XP PC.

There are apparently many different flavors of the WAV file format.

I agree I agree.  I'm a man.  A mortal man who sometimes fails to be holy.  Smiley

But more seriously, my point was that I could play bitcoinpoker on my free system using the flashplugin or, what I actually did waaaay more often was use the android app.  Now, dude had asked me why I don't run .exes.  I guess my direct answer should have been that I don't run windows.  The why to that was security, peace of mind, holiness, sanity.... I take a break from poker for two months, come back, and this is the state of things.

Are apple users no longer able to use SWC?

Hmm, maybe that has something to do with it.  I have a Win 7 laptop and the sound has always worked for me.

Hopefully if everyone with sound problems emails support with their details they'll be able to figure it out and find a fix.

We've been spoiled recently with withdrawals taking less than an hour, but 2 hours still isn't that long.

They process them manually, and although they've been going through them really quickly they still say "less than 12 hours" on the website.

Having to wait a few hours does feel "slow" to us now... but it's better than having instant withdrawals and the site putting itself at risk of losing bitcoin to a mistake/hack.

More troubleshooting on the "no sound" problem.

I have two XP PCs.  One has SwC sound and one does not have SwC sound.  Other sounds work fine.

I used Windows Explorer (aka File Manager) to look at the installed files (C:\Program Files\swcpoker).  The PC with SwC sound has a C:\Program Files\swcpoker\Sounds folder with WAV files in it.  The PC with no SwC sound does not have a Sounds folder, and does not have the files.  Uninstalled and installed.  Still no folder and no WAV files.
