I'd still like to hear your opinions on what legal things people are specifically spending bitcoins on.

I have only spent Bitcoin on legal things. Rent, food, flights, and hotels. I think you have a cognitive bias-- there's no indication that a significant part of the Bitcoin economy is related to crime. Most of it is on the up-and-up. Some of it isn't, but that's the same with every currency.

How have you accumulated those bitcoins?

Only through activity which does not violate the laws of my legal jurisdiction.

But they probably violate the law(s) of some of the jurisdictions that your business service.  Which make them funds gained from illegal activities.

Also, did you report 100% of your income on your taxes?  Even if you made bitcoins and spent those bitcoins without them ever hitting your bank account?  Because if you didn't report every single bitcent that you made, that's called tax evasion and that's also illegal.

I currently have no tax liability at the level of income I make, officer.

Maybe if you get an android client out things will get better for you?

Lol, best reply in this thread so far. While I disagree with a lot of what you say, this one gets a huge +1.

lol, so true.

@SWC, while the comment was funny, I don't think it's necessarily true. Will Android/mobile bring on more players? I feel like it will. Will it completely change everything? Doubtful. Cryptos are in a "gimme" state, where the vast majority of people want to get rich while doing as little as possible. This is why freerolls are so popular, but most people still won't join cash games. I really don't see this changing until a bigger fiat-based site helps bridge the gap between BTC/fiat players.

A range of Krillrolls will bridge the chasm between freerolls and cash games.  You can't play the krillrolls without playing the cash games.

Their software has good bones.  But they will need an Android app (and probably Mac, Linux and HTML) to get back to the player base and average hours of play they had before.

No but seriously it's pretty obvious that SWC has peaked in action under the current marketing plan, which is sad because it's the software with the most potential and virtually no games ever run.  Getting everyone who wants to play to be able to play should be priority #1.  Will it make things drastically better?  Probably not, but it'll be a good start and poker is one of those things where players attract players because more games run for more hours and prize pools are larger.

Another major problem is whoever is doing the public support.  The email support is actually pretty good, but way more people are going to be turned off by the poor public face that the company is putting on.  People ask questions on here...nothing.  On facebook...nothing.  On 2p2...nothing.  On reddit...I have no clue because it's PRIVATE!  These are all sites that are promoted from Swcpoker.eu so it's pretty reasonable that you'd have some sort of presence aside from copy/pasting a chart that's published on your website once a week.

I've answered the Android question so many times, but I'll answer it for you again: we want it to be out as soon as possible but we don't have an ETA. When I have more info I will give it to you.

Yeah, I'm not talking about that.  For myself, I'm talking about the question I asked three weeks ago (that was discussed for a day or so with no input from you ever).  Here's that question again:

I saw someone, in open chat, make a cold offer to buy someone else's account.  The account he wanted to buy had less krill than the account he was on.  Could someone explain to me why someone would do that if not for nefarious purposes?  Does SWC have systems in place to prevent/catch people multiaccounting?  Has anyone ever been caught multiaccounting?

So basically, do you have systems in place to catch multiaccounting (at the same time, not having multiple accounts to play on at separate times which I know is allowed on your site)?  Have you caught people multiaccounting?  What is the refund process like when you catch people cheating?

But, in general, your public support game is very weak.  Tons of questions get asked with no official input.  Even if it's something that you've answered many times, is it that big of a deal to do what literally every other poker site on the planet does and have a bunch of stock answers to common questions that you can copy/paste?

Accounts with collected krill have an inherent value. Some people trade them around and hoard them. This isn't indicative of multiplay.

We take cheating very seriously and have systems in place to prevent it. We confiscate funds and make periodic payments pro rata. If you suspect someone is cheating, we encourage you to write into support.

In my opinion, one account with a lot of krill is more valuable than multiple accounts with that amount of krill divided between them.

Agreed that it should be that way but the more krill, the harder it is to sell, too.

If you bother answering several times the same questions why don't you just add a sort of FAQ in original post of this thread? This way other members would address serial askers to the FAQ section.

And yes....completely agree with this

I agree with the sentiment that the public support is lacking and tbh sometimes in the wrong tone of voice Tongue I feel like Seals and even first months of SWC, this was better. I don't underestimate how time-consuming and difficult it is to get a proper poker site running though, so much of respect overall for you guys(!!) But as a relatively small site (not like PS) I think the public "support" is important to keep players happy too.

Personally I would love to see the PC client working on Wine. I feel like it is really possible with some libraries/configs but I don't have the knowledge about it. I would be actually willing to donate 0.1 BTC to the person that gives me proper instructions to get it easily running for me with Wine (not much, but I'm just a hobby player.) IMO even SWC could put some bounty up for that. Perhaps someone is willing to take the time to mess around with the Wine errors and come up with a solution, if there is some okay bounty for it. Because AFAIK the linux client would still take time, and with easy Wine instructions, perhaps it can bring in a few extra players. Should be worth it imo. In theory if that person finds out the PC client needs some small adjustments to work, it could be even possible imo.

I recently set up tethering from my android phone to my laptop computer (using either password-protected Wifi or a USB cable). It allows me to play poker anywhere, from my cell data connection, but on a Windows PC (which is the only SwC client at the moment).  So I don't need to be in a Starbucks for example to play poker.

Necessity is the mother of invention.

A lot of the current issues boil down to being bootstrapped for money... which I don't quite understand. If they believe in the business, they should either fund it or get investors that also believe in it. Then they can complete the development, get marketing, going, etc. to actually bring it above water. I like SWC but feel like it's in a state of futility right now due to mismanagement (which is pretty common with cryptos -- the vast majority of people running businesses around here have no idea what they're doing and wonder why they're failing).

I'm going to go ahead and bite the bullet and try it with Wine.  I haven't used wine in years, so no promises, but wish me luck.
