The First Bitcoin Chat
(#BitcoinChat) August 1st 2012 - 1PM PST - UTC/GMT-8
(The first wednesday of every month at 1PM PST)

What is a Twitter Chat?
A twitter chat is a group discussion centered around a certain topic. It allows for the flow of ideas and questions. It is basically a convention hosted on twitter.

What is Bitcoin Chat?
Bitcoin Chat is a twitter chat centered around Bitcoin! All questions and answers will have the hashtag #BitcoinChat to allow others to follow the discussion. I hope plenty of notable Bitcoiners will join in and allow for some clarifications about Bitcoin and the events happening in Bitcoin. @Coinabul will be the host and moderator. They will moderate and ask questions to keep the discussion going.

Here are some ways you can help!

If you are interested in this chat and wish to participate, please leave your name (and twitter name) below on the RSVP list.

If you have a good question for discussion, please leave it in on the questions list.

RSVP List:
@Coinabul
@EliSklar

Questions List:
What is Bitcoin?
What’s better about Bitcoin (compared to conventional fiat or commodities)?
What have you bought or done with Bitcoin?
What features of Bitcoin still need work?
How can one secure decentralized commerce?
What makes Bitcoin trustable?
Is Bitcoin a get-rich-quick scheme?
What ways can merchants (online and brick and mortar) get paid in bitcoin?

why don't you just use irc and with a bot you can pull in the hashtag?
The idea is to expose Bitcoin to people's followers. It's sort of a ripple effect. If it gets big enough we might be able to hit the trending topics. (But that's months down the line.)

I'm in the same boat. No Twitter account with any followers. That said, it seems like a good idea.

Good luck!
